I know I've read it on here, but being lazy and looking for a quick answer, I thought I'd just ask -

What size screw is used to press the brake drum off the axle?

    Thanks.

I've use that method to get a rear rotor off the hub on another marquee, and the spare hold down bolt was the proper size (handy huh?)

But I've not had to do that for a drum removal. Ever.

Make sure the ebrake is off and pull. If no luck, back off the adjuster and try again. Still no luck, beat it around the edges with a heavy rubber mallet.

I don't know your specfic answer, but thought I'd toss out some other options, just in case you'd not tried them.

I appreciate the suggestions, and have used them all on other vehicles.

On this truck, I have not yet tried to pull the drums off - I am just wanting to be prepared if I need work at pulling the drums.

I believe it is 8mm x 1.25. I did this a few weeks ago and the bolt method worked great!

you can also just remove two bolts from the skid plate. They will fit.

Just back the adjuster off first !

Since there is only a few threads in those holes the minute you put real pressure on the threads they will just strip.

    Best of luck
