Ended up getting a Tacoma after all . Was built on July 30th. No vibrations , no steering wheel shake , runs smooth. Has decent power. I'm very happy with this truck . Stereo could be better .

Removing chrome step bars and replacing grill with TRD pro when it comes out . Just ordered the TRD Skid !

Mine was built May 16, no issues at first (and I looked hard after being on here), then around 3k the rear diff howl, that about 60% of us have. But congrats, hope yours is better.

    Great looking ride, congrats!

Mine was build in TX Jan '16 I'm at almost 10k on the clock, no diff howl, no ATF lvl ck (they come properly, and professionally filled from the factory), drove it on dry U-joints as claimed here for 5k, they did no fall apart, until purged them with Sta-Lube® Sta-Plex® Extreme Pressure Premium Red Grease, and they weren't dry as reported here, as I could clearly see the black grease replaced by the hi-temp 500* drop red grease. No shimmy, no shake, no shudders just a great looking, great driving truck, plenty power.
But I did test drive mine unlike some here, since I actually bought one, so I knew it had plenty power, and it now thinks its a V-8.

    Enjoy your truck!
    Cheers!

Ok heads up everyone that has a ’16 with no diff hollowing issues, are not concerned about your ATF lvl, your U-joints being dry, or any other issues…Don’t say that!
Or you’re likely to be called an idiot, by a real idiot here on TW.

Say you like your truck but that you have an issue, it doesn’t matter if it’s not true, as the truth is hard to come by, and truth be told, the truck is solid built and no amount of negativity is putting any dent on sales, even with all the B/S here.
But as for me, it doesn’t matter to me if I’m called an idiot because I can be, and know it takes one to know one.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

You're an idiot because your post is filled with holes. You stated your fluid lvl is fine "professionally filled" but yet you've never had it checked, how would you know? You then went on to say you had dry zerks, wait a minute wouldn't that be an issue that was reported here? I called you an idiot because you got on your soap box rant implying that the trucks don't have issues, which is VERY far from the truth. Yes no truck is perfect, all of my tacoma's had one thing or another, but to claim defect free and everyone that says otherwise is on some witch hunt vendetta is stupid, thus the idiot comment. Your new here, its okay, call me an idiot, but unlike you I have had 5 tacomas, been here a lot longer and actually contributed from repairs, to mods, to help with lifts etc. advice wise and in my own garage. But keep running your mouth.

OP congrats on the new truck, I love mine even with my diff howl, I hope yours is an issue free truck, but educate yourself and be aware there are issues that people have had develop later into ownership and will hopefully be addressed as we tend to do so here at TW. Enjoy your new truck.

My April Taco's trans fluid was a quart low and radio flips out every so often. Other than that no issues.

I honestly don't think manufacture date is a good predictor of quality.

My late build 2016 (April 2016) has been plagued with so many problems (driveline vibes, resetting radio, diff howl, vibrating hood, rattles...etc) while some people with 2015 build dates are problem free.

All luck of the draw I guess.

I think all Tacoma produced mid-July and forward and shipped with new transmission software so I do think manufacture date is somewhat important.

Mine was a July 8th build and only has zerks on front drive shaft.
If I'm listening closely I do pick up a diff howl like others have mentioned. Hopefully it won't get worse but I will at least mention it at my 5000 check up.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it!

Ah, so you have your own garage eh? So what did you do? Put in the wrong diff fluid and now you have a hollowing and blame Toyota??
Please…Stick to amateur stuff like change your engine oil, light bulbs, filters and that’s it. You’ll avoid lots of headaches that way.
And FYI I’ve owned more Toyotas than you, not all Tacos, but they share lot of the same components across the lines and now Lexus, just so U know.
But also I must tell you they are the most trouble free make out there, so I haven’t had to do any real trouble shooting or constant repairs like the other makes I’ve owned both personal and professionally. And by that I mean don’t fook up anything either even though I drive the chit out of them.
And how do I know my trans ATF lvl is ok?
Because I’m not an amateur, I knew within moments the following cold day of ownership I didn’t have a low ATF issue, but a software issue for the forward delay movement engagement issue. I was also not concerned as I knew that the drive train had some learning to do in the next few days, and adding ATF wasn’t gonna solve anything.

But how do I know without checking it?
Because of the precise smooth on time shifting, and my many years of experience on the field. On top of that, the transmission is very strictly filled to spec, and checked at distribution port, and then again at the dealer upon arrival. I’ve owned Toyotas before, not one has ever been low on ANY fluid levels.
And I have it in writing (PID sheet) that all has been checked and is well.
Only an idiot would keep hassling the dealer to keep checking the ATF lvl because sooner or later, what will happen is someone is going to overfill it just to shut them up.

But I’m still not checking it unless I see a leak, and at 150-200k miles I’m gonna post again with no issues, and remind all those clowns that say it was low on ATF that all is well, no issues, all B/S just like the U-joints being dry.

And when I said it was dry, it was according to the clowns and amateurs here on TW saying it was dry, not me I'm a pro and know better.
I knew they weren’t dry, I posted it and drove it 5k to prove them wrong without even checking them just like the ATF. I’ve put many a U-joint and I can guarantee you they would not have lasted me the way I drove it.

Now that I hope you have your facts straight and understand, you’ll enjoy your truck more and stop listening to the idiots here that hear voices and post B/S, because they’ll have YOU hearing chit too, like the engine has no power, I call that B/S also.
Those Idiots need to test drive chit before they buy.

And to reiterate, the truck has NO issues, other than the voices on the heads of some here.
And yes, the seats don’t go up or down, so that’s an issue for some too but as I said, I test drove it and knew it before I bought it, so that’s on me if it should become an issue later on.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

I was also told that Toyota was aware of the low tranny fluid issue and it was resolved in Feb/March 2016. Build date DEFINITELY matters!

Yep another response that proves you're an idiot. Won't even start. Just based on your stupid way of diagnosising things and assumptions you seem like you have limited experience with a wrench. And I have a howl as many others do from the factory documented on video and acknowledged by the service techs at Toyota you call professionals and praise.
