I hope this hasn't been covered before but I ran into a little issue while installing Tundra springs and struts on my 1st gen Tacoma I was hoping to get some input on. I did a lot of research before buying parts and I got Tundra 5-way adjustable struts, TRD Tundra Springs (Y-Y & B-Y), new OEM Tacoma top hats and hardware and Tundra (Monroe) isolators. I have never seen anyone have issues with the Tundra isolators (I got the same part # as I have seen others use) but mine seem to be WAY to big. Check out the pic to see what I mean. It was very difficult to even get the strut into the position to attach the 3 top nuts. However now that it's in there the isolator has rolled over and wedged itself in between the spring and strut tower.

Have any of you guys seen this before or heard of this happening? Any ideas on what I should do? I don't think I should drive it as it sits now. I don't really want to take the strut assembly apart again but it seems like that may be my only option.

Any input would be much appreciated.

You're sure those are for a first gen Tundra?

So I just got off the phone with Sonoran Steel and obviously the Tundra Isolators do NOT work with this lift setup on First Gen Tacomas. For anyone who intends to install this setup on their truck call SS and get their custom poly top plate retainers. Good prices and great customer service.
