The thought just crossed my mind....I have a set of Boss coilovers that the previous owner ruined the shocks......Are those coils longer/shorter than lets say OME 885X's? (and what rate?) Would they be able to be installed on 5100's? No plan on doing so, just churning info around inside my empty head....

Well just found out both of my wheel bearings are shot. Not what I had planned to spend my bonus on this month....

Reason I ask....I'm 110% pleased with my 885X's and have no plans to change them any time soon. I do however have a buddy that wants to throw together the cheapest lift he can for a "trail beater" '07 Yota he just bought. (no title, much body damage) He's got a set of 5100's and is looking for a deal on coils. I don't want to sell him something that isn't going to work. Sounds like this may be a "if it fits, you owe me $XXXX, if not, just give me my coils back" kinda deal....

I'm pretty sure you can run OME on bilsteins, but as far as the Boss coilovers go that's beyond my knowledge

Yep! I'm running 885X's on 5100's now. Very happy with 'em. newlift 002.jpg

0". That gave 2-1/2" lift. I went back and put 1/2" poly top plate spacers on, and now have 3-1/16" above stock ride height. Got 2.8 right side and 2.9 left side caster with stock UCA's, no rubbing, and a decent ride. I do NOT like preloading coils to get lift. I used to work for Honda years ago in their HRC division. (raced dirt bikes) I was a suspension tech for a while. I was taught to NEVER preload coils without changing rebound dampening to accommodate, or you would create a jackhammer effect. Old habits die hard.

That's what I thought but wanted to double check since all I know is 1st gen.

Yeah preloading just makes the ride worse, when I get my Kings I'm going to try and get as little pre-load as possible.

Anyone here know about "Prentice Cooper"? I just heard a few very vague comments about it. Other than it's "off road" and it's in Tennessee, I have no knowledge of it. Headed to Google now.

Just did a quick Google search and found a number of good links. Looking for places to do fall sightseeing trips with a group that is predominantly stock or very mildly modified vehicles. From what I see so far, this might me a decent place.

Yeah it would be for what you are looking for. There is a lot of pull offs that you go out on the rock cliffs that overlook the mtns and river gorge. Once you drive through PC you can on the other side of the mtn to Big Fork and their are some more trails.
