I've had some issues with my A/C since buying the vehicle about a month ago. When the A/C is running in higher efficiency conditions (i.e. highway driving) the evaporator coil freezes up and blocks airflow to the cab. After a visit to the dealer (who found a few problems, see this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/a-c-performance-during-highway-cruise.446835/) a few problems were fixed, but the system still freezes up after about 10 minutes of 60mph+ driving. Since I'm pretty sure there's no refrigerant leak (and even if there was, the compressor should still shut off when the evaporator gets cold enough, right?) I'm pretty sure the evaporator thermistor is causing the problem.

This is how the thermistor is wired:

And here is the part I think I need to buy as well as some diagrams:

    1. Is this feasible for me to do at home?
    2. Where in the dash is the evaporator located, and what do I need to remove to access it?
    3. Is it worth it for me to attempt this or should I take it back to the dealer to fix?

Im not 100% but I believe that's the job of the expansion valve. If you look into how that operates that might shed some light. Theres a small capillary tube that senses temp and regulates refridgerant flow.
