I highly recommend the HRV. You really are getting a LOT of car for the money. It's on a Honda Fit platform, which is awesome, because it allows that thing to turn on a dime and handle incredibly well for what it is. Going from the taco to driving that thing? It's a nice change. The all-wheel drive gives a little piece of mind, too. Heck, she's probably better off than I am in the winter time, haha.

In response to your other question: Yeah, he's a buddy of mine. A little older, though. He played at Wisconsin, did about a year for the 49ers, played in Canada for a bit, then moved home and became a firefighter. His wife is a cop. Cool people. I used to do crossfit with them, prior to my 30 year old joints going the route of 80 year old joints.

Thanks. We'll definitely check those out.

Since he's a little older, there's probably a good chance he knows my dad. My dad retired in 2000. Ask him if he knows Mike aka "Iron Mike". He was a Captain out of 22 in Arlington Heights.

It was bad ass looking... Lift 3" spacer I did before I really started following Tacoma world. The funny thing is besides the cost of the truck the most expensive thing on it was the tires.

Practicality tends to kick in when you realize a car seat won't fit in the acc cab... And you have a newborn.

The synchro on 2nd gear was just about shot. They gave me a good trade in. Now car seat fits and if my wife and I are out in the truck she can drive us home if I want to have a drink.

This truck will be and is a much slower build and way more expensive. Never had a cap until now don't think I could go back.

Ok I'm getting old I can not for the life of me remember who had mud flaps I liked at one of our meets. Help me out.

They were aftermarket and the curved part matched the fender flare and met the painted part on the out side. Had 2 or three metal brackets to attach. Rivited to the flap then about a 1/4 inch towards the tire then into the wheel well. Had holes and mounted with screws.

Whoever had them told me the make and I can't remember to save my life. Also have no idea who I was talking too.

Any ideas? Post up if you have something similar.
Going to cut out some of the fender flare flatten pinch weld and prob cab mount chop soon. Thinking I could use the flap in combo with some homemade brackets to fill in and close up flares. Plus getting sick of cleaning this black truck with all the road debris.

Rokbloks. Overall, for the money, I'm not real impressed. I purchased the longest version that they had. They are much shorter than the stockers, with or without lift. They are also starting to curl on the passenger side front and my tire is now rubbing them. I have been contemplating contacting Rokbloks to see what they can do about them deforming. They look like they will work well on WRX, but I don't think they were specifically made for Tacomas.

Pics of going on a muddy road and what coverage they actually provide. Going to get sliders with fill plates so I don't jack up my body anymore with rocks.

How does Sunday, September 25th sound to everyone???? Not to step on toes @monstercoma, but with all the new guys on this thread, I want to try to get something on the schedule.

The Steelers have an away 4:25 start time against the Eagles.

Put me down for a maybe. That's the day before the wife's birthday. So not sure I should plan anything in case.

Thanks for the review man. I was really hoping you were going to say that they are great.
Now to the drawing board... Maybe I can make some. Trying to think of a raw material to start with... Maybe some big tractor trailer flaps and cut to fit. Make some brackets like came with yours.

We will meet in the parking lot behind the warehouse in the strip district and eat at Primanti Bros once everyone gets there. We mostly try to meet in the lot by noon. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Weathertech floor mats, Go Rhino Dominator II step bars, EGR in channel ventshades, homemade spare tire bed rack, hitch step, K&N air filter and cabin air filter, 265/75/16 Goodyear Duratrac's, Phillips LED headlights, Yellow Jacket yellow foglights, led back up lights, Mobtown tailgate stiffener, Wheeler's 3 leaf add a leaf, Firestone ride rite airbags, Bentrodders bed reinforcement stiffeners, PIAA windshield wipers
The Duratrac's are well worth the money. I've ran them on a couple different trucks and abused them on and offroad, rock crawling, towing, hauling. They stand up to anything I throw at them. Never had any issues with the sidewalls (that issue is from the fullsize diesel dummies running the wrong load range tires on their trucks and destroying them).

I had 33x12.50x15's on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that I highly modified myself. I had 45,374 miles on them when I sold the wheels and tires to a guy on CL for $700 (matching 5 wheels and tires with equal 1/2 tread left)
