Awesome, glad to see you got them on. I think you'd been eyeballing them even longer than I had.

How did your measurements turn out?

Measurements seem great. I would say I am about 2" all around. The rear seemes to be leveling out to match the front, which is fine with me.
Am running some weight though - camper shell, platform, sliders, recovery bar, alum. skid, BajaRack with a recovery gear case.
    I like them more everyday.
After the alignment, the truck felt even better.

my sway bar was on for about 2 months. between the spindles, billies and fn fivestar -25 offset the front is wide as hell and i dont think its unsafe. the feeling of the truck rolling is a bit odd at first. one consideration is that it makes your truck slower, coming out of corners, because the inside tire can spin due to the weight transfer.

Does anybody in here know for sure if the collapsed and expanded length of the 6112 shock is the same as a 5100 shock?

    Thanks.

I talked to Bilstein tech support. They wouldn't tell me (haha), but they told me the approximate lift numbers for a 4x4 Second Gen Tacoma.

And then I finally found it on their website which is kind of a pain to navigate.

Here are the installation instructions for the 6112.

I currently have an estimated 2.5" of lift with the 5100/885 combo, and looking to keep roughly the same ride height.

Using the chart above, it would appear I would want #5. Anyone in here run at #5? Anyone run at #4 with 1/4" spacers on each side?

On the first setting with the drivers side 1/4 spacer I was at about 1-3/4 and level after they settled. I think most folks are getting different numbers than what is show on the chart.

that's what I'm afraid of. SO if my math is right, you got 0.45" more lift than advertised?

Thinking mine have settled to about a 2" lift on the 4th setting (consistently measuring 22"). But I do have some fat on the truck that is probably weighing it down a bit (sliders, front recovery bar, BajaRack).

Yes, with all respect there's two charts. I have a Prerunner.

    Thanks a lot Jim.

Forgive my ignorance, but are you running any spacers or 6112 straight up. I can't remember thanks.

    No problem.
3/8" on the drivers side only.

I used the 2nd setting (1.08") with a drivers 1/4 " spacer and ended up with 1" and pretty much equal Right vs. left after 1-2 days of driving, but that's with an extra 150#s up front. If you liked the 5100/885 combo, you could consider using a 650 or 700# coil or go with the #5 setting.

So I got my 6112's in today for my '16 TRD OR DC. Already installed the 5160's last weekend, along with a set of SumoSprings.

Hoping my math is right (guess I'll find out tomorrow):
    '16 comes with a 1" factory rake.
SumoSprings added 5/8" lift to rear, making the rake 1 5/8" more/less.
6112's installed at 3rd settings should provide 1.59" lift (according to factory) - 1.75" lift (according most on here).
So rake should be just about dead even; give or take a 1/16" here or there... Hopefully front end will settle a bit after a while.

Funny thing... Called all over the Houston area for install prices for front... Cheapest I found was dealer ($275 installed & $89 for alignment).

Will update post will outcome tomorrow.

P.S. Anyone looking to pull the trigger on a set of Bilstein 6112's, I got mine from a guy on eBay for $500 + free shipping. Not bad price at all. Has one pair left. According to shipping, it looks like they came from the Bilstein plant in Ohio. Wasn't sure what to think at first, but when I got them in today, they check out and look fine.

    Good luck.
Sounds like you are well researched.
Great deal on those. That will pay for the install.

On the #3 setting, I had just over 2" of lift after the initial install. I'm embarrassed to admit, I haven't measured since I got the truck back after the alignment, but looking at it from the side, I'm still a tad nose high compared to my stock rear suspension. If my memory serves me correctly, there's 1.5" of rake from the factory. Going by theoretical numbers, I'd imagine I'm still sitting right around that 2" lift number in the front @ the #3 setting. DCSB, 4wd, no weight other than the aluminum TRD skid plate.

I'd say #4 setting is probably what you'd want to look at, maybe with a 1/4" spacer just to be safe. At #3, the 6112's rode better than the stock TRD Off Road suspension, so I wouldn't hesitate to bump it up a notch if I needed to.

If you and a buddy both know how to turn a wrench, the installation really isn't bad to do at home. About 4 hours and a few sockets will have you up and running. I could probably do the entire process again in 2 hours now that I know what I'm doing.

    I think stock is about:
20 - 201/2" Front (under fender to hub center)
213/4 - 22" Rear (under fender to hub center)

Got my 6112's put on this morning.... All I can say is wow! This is what I was expecting when I bought my '16 Tacoma a month ago. As expected, the truck is dead level with the 6112's set at 3rd setting with the SumoSprings added to the rear. And the ride.... Butter... I am riding on butter. The tech doing the install at the dealer couldn't believe how big the shocks were... Said he was going to have to get some for his Tacoma. Dealer even came in under quoted install price at $250.
