Good to ask, I have basic understanding of electrical stuff but not a lot of knowledge by any means.
My switch was a single pole single toggle 2 wire switch, I just ran one end of cut green to one lead on the switch, and then other green cut end to the other lead on the switch.

Well thats pretty cut and dry, not much to screw up there. Only thing I can think is that your year truck has a different wire used for the abs. Try this. Pull the abs fuse and see what lights come on your dash.

2012. Hopefully not different. Will try unbolting abs fuse.

12-14. More tech, Touch screen radio, and clock in dash instead of inside display.

Boosted my 08 last year and she runs like a charm. But only had 80,000 on it. Say if you supercharger it at 30,000 and now you have 150,000. Is the truck to old so now you have to pull the supercharger off and go stock. Just don't act like fast and furious every day and you should be fine.

2000 Taco was running like a dream til the frames gave up.

2013 still runs like a dream (even on passing) so i can't say which is better. Any Taco is good in my book. No?

Another vote for these wise words.

I hate that my '15 doesn't have the dash clock and outside temp gauge but love the other 99% of it.

It is pretty well understood that the 2009 Tacoma 4x4 access cab is the best ever produced by Toyota, not only mechanically, but in appearance. (why yes,,,, I do own a 2009)

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
A couple of things to consider, pardon my rambling from memory.....2012 or 2013 and up has the resigned Pistons that in some cause piston slap. 2013 gets a backup camera and is the only year with the camera in the mirror instead of the radio display. Older Sports have mechanical LSD, newer has electronic LSD which is junk and sometimes dangerous. Frame rust is an issue up through a few years ago. Pre 2013 V6 got a mile or two better gas mileage. 2014 and I think 2013 starts the noisy air pump years. In 2014 they eliminated the cargo net inside the console but the slots are there to add it. 2014 started the Entune radio which isn't all that great and gives you the shark fin antenna. 2014 starts the outside temp in the radio display from HD radio instead of in the mirror, this is a joke along with the traffic app that never works. Earlier Sports had a higher, more rounded hood scoop, it's now flatter. 2005-2006 have a narrower seat bolster, it's wider in 2007 and up. 2005 had no cabin air filter but has the slot for it to be added. The rear headrests in my 2014 double cab are bigger than they were in my 2006 making it harder to see when you pull out, especially if you have a cap on the back.

IMO, the 4.0 is more bulletproof 2012 and below.

    Too few to list.
    05-08 has the mechanical LSD
09-11 begins A-trac/Trac and back up camera
12-15 new front end but begins smog pump. Also deletes clock, rear view mirror temp/direction

I vote 11 - grill was different than any other years, doesn't have smog pump, has clock/temp/directional rear view mirror and A-trac/Trac.

put a switch to disconnect the right rear ABS sensor. I promise it will kill all ABS, VSC, etc . I learned that the hard way by breaking it once when I was using tire chains in mud and one broke loose. :) ABS, everything was disabled, even speedometer was like a pinball needle bouncing around.
