    Capitol Peak (Outside Aspen)

    Capitol Creek Trailhead
The first destination is the tiny hamlet of Snowmass (not Snowmass Village), which is located on SH 82 28 miles south of Glenwood Springs or 13.1 miles south from Maroon Creek Road in Aspen. Turn west at Snowmass onto Snowmass Creek Road. After 1.7 miles from SH 82, turn right onto Capitol Creek Road. Stay left at 1.9 miles (all measurements from SH 82), left at 3.2 miles, right at 4.7 miles, right at 5.9 miles where the pavement ends (which is also the winter closure).

Follow the road to its end (9.5 miles from SH 82). The last 1.5 miles or so of the road are fairly rough, but passable to most cars if driven slowly. This section forms an Aspen "Tunnel" over dirt road

Good views from TH, but head West down "ditch trail" for some other views.

Independence Pass to get there also has good Aspen color spots

Snowmass Condo's are cheap if you don't want to camp.

cause im an offroader. i dont care what people drive. its all about getting together and actually doing something instead of sitting and talking about it. i actually plan offroad events and wanted more participation from other makes and models other than raptors. seems we always have 25 raptors and 2 toyota, dodge, and chevy trucks all the time. since i moved to colorado, i need to find the group that offroads. besides, being here, you all have someone to talk shit about. you should be happy

I want to like the 3rd gens. But the thought of having to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars to remove factory parts before it's driveable I can't wrap my head around. DPFs and DEF exhausts are ruining trucks before they ever hit the road. Thanks, Obama.
