A bad A$$ '17 TRD-Pro if I could get it in white DCLB and at a terrestrial price. :D

    Hope that helps!

Unfortunately we can't get an access cab long bed TRD OR in the US with a manual transmission. Only in Canada, but it seems they have discontinued that option there too for 2017. Would buy my current awesome little truck all over again though!

Oh I thought that was one of the 3 options for manual transmissions.

    Nevermind lol

It's amazing that out of the 31 cab/trim options, only 5 are manuals.

A SR double cab short bed v6 4wd manual is what I want. Don't need a locker or anything fancy..just a basic reliable truck. Going off the msrp from double cab TRDs and comparing to the SR double cab, it'd be right around $28k msrp. Perfect.

Closest thing is a TRD, but that adds like $5k worth of "stuff" that I don't want.

I park mine on the north side of a huge Sweet Gum tree but knowing my luck the tree will fall on my apartment and kill me instead.

After 4 months of ownership I'd say, no, I would not buy it again. Why?

Well, (1) I literally hate the transmission's programming which seems to be too eager to stay/get to a taller gear for the sake of gas mileage. I've had the tranny flash and it did cure the hesitation from "R" to "D", but IMHO it still has a lot to be desired. (2) The wind noise while at highway speeds is totally unacceptable for a $38K truck! (3) When it rains hard it sounds really cheap on the inside, like there's no insulation between the headliner and roof. (4) With the AC running the motor "has no balls"! (5) I'm a little taller than 5'10" and the seating position sucks a$$! Anyone 6' plus is either totally uncomfortable or they have "convinced" themselves that are comfy as a bug in a rug. (6) I can't for the life of me understand why the Limited model doesn't at least have the option for power seats with memory. My wife is 4'11" and on rare occasions she has to drive my truck. (7) No avaliable power folding mirrors. Again, a truck at this price and trim level should have a lot more standard options, HELL, at least have them avaliable to choose!

To be honest my expectations may be a too high because I normally drive V-8's, I usually buy the higher end model and the full size truck, i.e., Tundra, GMC Sierra. I thought the 2016 Tacoma with its snazzy looks and nice interior would satisfy me, but I was wrong.

Now with all those concerns I'd love to get something else, but my trade which was too big had negative equity and combine that with my current loan...well it looks like I'll have to live with all my dislikes! Would I do it again? Hell no!!!

Agreed, I wasn't very impressed with the Colorado either. The Colorado was my possible 'plan B' after I the GEN3 Tacoma came out (was originally my first choice) but a quick look and test drive fixed that.

I've got about 9,000 miles on my Taco.... I might would look harder for a good price on an OR, but I'm happy with the truck.

I'd buy a scooter rather than new sparky taco and be free of issues but will stick with my 1st gen for another 30+ yearsimage.jpg

I'd probably get a GMC Canyon this time given the lackluster performance of my '16 Tacoma. Only thing comparing the two that I like better is the interior of the Tacoma. Still think the GMC/Chevy interiors look dated and weak.

Yuck....Those things look like a door stopper w/ wheels. Or those little wooden pinewood derby cars.

Given that I saw myself buy a 3rd gen truck in the future and did not like it, I would have wished that I could go back in time and keep my 2nd gen truck. So now that I have that information currently, or the past, I will keep my 2nd gen and forgo having to wish I could go back in time and not buy the 3rd gen. :)

Maybe a 2018... not a 2016 or 2017 because they still haven't fixed all the issues!
