    95% pavement. 80% city, 20% highway.

5% packed sand, shell, gravel. Not really traction challenged most of the time.

Both wet and dry grip. And sometimes when it's wet, it's monsoon wet.

Reasonable wear. I drive so few miles they'll likely rot before they wear out anyway. (4k yr.)

Budget is always important, but I don't mind paying a bit more if there is value in the cost. Like warranty, dealer network, etc.

Quiet ride. Don't want howlers. While I like the look of big tread blocks, my experience has been they don't particularly wear well, and a tire that starts quiet ends life too loud.

I'm thinking Michelin LTX, although I'm not sure the difference between the Defender series and the 'regular' LTX. And I'm not sure they are worth the price premium over other name brands?

When you recommend a couple of choices, toss in your favorite source. I have an installer, so an online source like Tire Rack is fine.

    Looking at 235 x 75 x 15. Maybe 235 x 70, as that should actually perfect the speedo.

Got a lot of stuff lol
I have 235/75/r15 bfg the original ko's not the 2's and I love them I'm like 99.9% road and .1% off but the grip I get even when it's wet (which is important down in Florida) when the tires do give it's very predictable mainly to the open diff lol. My spedo if I remember is still very close and I still feel like I have all my power. I do get a slight howl when slowing down but with the radio up I don't hear it especially on the highway.

The ko2 have less howl. Almost none. Prepared to the ko 1 . I have 235/70/16. Ko1 on my 5lug and like the fury said there good . They last a long time. When you drive into a big puddle they tend to throw water in front of you and it covers the windshield and sometimes makes it hard to see. But no hidroplaning. I have the ko2 on my 8oLC and like them better . And will buy them again the ko2 but in a 275/70/16 for my next size up. If you wanted a 16" tire I would sell you mine they have 10,000 miles on them and are 1 year old and garage kept. No sun except for when I drive. I have 5 of them. The (general at )tire are the same look and much less in cost. Like 1/2.

    Thanks guys.

I don't want an A/T tire. And I've got wheels that I'm going to use, still 15".

    Other thoughts?

I went with pro comp 31 all terrains. Sluggish as hell but I manage to still pull in 17-20mpg. Power loss is huge on hills, but everywhere else is very unnoticeable.

    OP:

I run Uniroyal Laredo tires in 235-70-15 on the original rims in Bradenton/Sarasota/Tampa so I get the same weather you do. No rubs or problems and I have 201,000 on my '09 5 lug. Good control in dry and excellent on slick roads when fresh. They are quiet and I also like the ride compared to all-terrain tires.
