    Op,

You may want to think about posting this on Shapeways. It's a great open source platform where everyone can share ideas and be able to get a quality product.

If I read this right, you tapped in to the power cable that attaches to the vanity lights above the visors? Or which cable was used?

I have the '16 SR which has no visor mirrors or lights. It does have dome lights above the windshield though.

I tapped into the 3-wire adapter cable that goes between the original self-dimming mirror, and the HomeLink mirror I installed. You could do the same with the self-dimming mirror harness, but I wasn't ready to tamper with any OEM wiring on a 2 week old truck. ;)

If you can find the "hot" 12v supply wire of anything under that overhead console, you can tap into that for this.

From my angle the mount is almost blocked by my rear view mirror anyways. And its definately blocked by the sun visor. Considering I only run the camera when im off roading or something of the like....I think its fair to say its a very minor issue.

Yup! It's the only thing you need to connect the Rexing cam to the GoPro mount.

Any instructions on how to do this? No background of any electronics or messing with the interior of the vehicle to hide wires. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm in the process of doing the same. Waiting for the harness to arrive today to hard wire it.

I had this same camera hard wired in my other car.

I wanted to find a mount that will invert the mount... See, GoPros automatically invert the video if you invert the camera, so if you stick a camera on the windshield mount and record, the video comes out right-side-up.

Well, I use a Sony action camera for my paramotor flying, and want to be able to use it in the truck. Well, I CAN, but Sony in all their brilliance, didn't put a gyroscope in the camera, or if they did, they didn't program it to automatically invert the video if the camera is inverted. I have to go into a menu and manually invert the video. Then if I pop the camera off and put it on my helmet when I fly, I have to remember to flip it BACK. It's not the end of the world if the video is inverted, I can flip it in my video editing software, but it would be nice if the camera did it automagically...

So I looked around a bit to see if anyone made a GoPro mount that was essentially a large C shaped deal that could 'un-invert' the camera. No joy. I bet if I wanted to dust off my 3d printer, which I never got calibrated very well, and then try to design something... I probably could. But I'm just not motivated enough in this case. :/

Why dont you use the switched power prongs on the back of the mirror to power the cam? Yo can get a adapter for under 15 bucks.
