Oh..huh I'll have to check that out tomorrow. If I can get away with what I have then I think I'll do alright. I've run the truck a few times now with now oil leaks from the turbo, let's hope it stays that way.

It leaks into your intake. Where the blades are. Basically it pools in your bearing and slowly seeps into our intake. Some like a small clock so there is some undrained oil in the bearing to keep it lubricated after sitting around for a while but you don't want the angle too extreme.

Well, to whoever said install the wastegate BEFORE installing the header...I'm so sorry I didn't listen to you...welp time to take off the starter, turbo and crossover V Band to get to the WG.

SO in case anyone missed it, INSTALL THE WASTEGATE BEFORE INSTALLING THE TURBO HEADER

    NO!!

    NO!!

    NO!!

You can't get the headers on with the WG and dump pipe. You might be able to do it with the WG installed, I can't remember, but I know for a fact, the dump pipe has to go on after the headers are in place. Its a major PITA!

oops. I fixed it. But im pretty sure to have things go smoothly you should install atleast the WG, this I know because its nearly impossible to tighten the wastegate bolts if you don't.

I seem to remember putting the WG on after the header was on. No, its not easy.

Just hard to get a good angle on the bolts. It's been a while since I've installed and I try to forget those hours cursing at my truck 3am in the morning.

    Same here.

Just got it on with no leaks!:yay: Definitely if you can, put the wastegate on before mounting the header. Don't install the dump pipe till after you install the header, and for auto owners, you'll have to maneuver the fill tube around the dumpipe, no big deal as long as you do it in that order. Truck sounds nice and deep with that Pro series muffler. Ill try and have a exhaust note up tomorrow after I get the IC and vacuum piping finished. Things almost ready for a test drive! sorry for the lack of pics, I'll get some up tomorrow as well.

Slight issue. I have the truck fully put back IC piping and all, but thee truck just won't start. It'll crank up and rev to 1500 rpm then cut power and drop till it dies (all within about 3 seconds) Anyone else have this sorta issue?

Painting the turbo red was a good choice! I dig it.

that happened to me on my 2nd gen when I did the install on my CAI, it will start the rpm's will go up a bit and shut off. it was the sensor that goes on the tube it was upside down so it wasn't reading it correctly. the way the bolts are on it I have to removed the base and turned it around.

Did you check all your vac hoses?

Good news is I'm pretty sure this looks like user error, in that I don't think anything is broken. Just need to figure out what you forgot to do. Put up a pic/vid of the engine bay.

Well there are 2 open ports on the manifold that would be a vacuum leak, after plugging them, no luck. I checked the wiring harness and all grounds seem to be in order, I even swapped out my MAF for the spare I have and nothing... People on another forum were saying that replacing their "ignitor" fixed the issue. I know what ignition coils are and as far as I know they're all good... What and where is the ignitor? I assume it drives the coils or something? Is it the thing you stick your key into? Fuel pump works as the system will still prime at the ACC position on the ignition, Injectors work as the thing still starts, and so does spark. Something ECU side isn't right and now its just a matter of figuring out what

The fact it starts says alot. Can you keep it going by giving it throttle at all?
