Worked on a few things over the last couple of days. First off is a DIY Maxtrax mount made out of 14" hinge straps, T-slot nuts and a Maxtrax mounting pin set.

    20160821_203656.jpg

I also replaced the wing nuts on my DIY Hi-Lift mount with some aluminum knobs I found on Amazon.

Also, headed down to Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah. They did a fantastic job installing the ARB Twin air compressor I picked up a few weeks ago. Big thanks to the awesome team of Dana, Joe, John & Phil!

Finished the shovel mount and now everything in the back has its own spot.

Thanks man! I've only played with the compressor a little bit so still early on but it seems to be an excellent quality unit and it pumps up pretty fast. Long term I'll look at Air Lockers but that won't be for a few years.

I was debating getting one of the twins but had never seen one in person or talked to anyone that had used one. My compressor just takes wayyyyy too long to pump up my tires.

Installed some LCA skids today....Bruce Wayne has the batmobile, I'm working on the BAMFmobile......

    20160916_163632.jpg

    20160916_163735.jpg

When installing these skids the outer hole in the LCA has to be enlarged slightly to accommodate the bolt. I used a step bit for this.

The hardware that came with the LCA skids had washers which were too small. If you look at the top of the LCA, the top hole is considerably larger than the hole on the bottom of the LCA. The washers that came with the skids started to suck into the upper holes of the LCA and deform as the carriage bolts were tightened. A quick trip over to Lowes and replaced the washers with some M10x30 fender washers. Much better.....

Out with the old, in with the new -- All-Pro Dual Swingout Rear Standard Clearance w/ Rotopax mount.

The short tranny jack saves the day again when working alone and you need another set of hands.

    20161007_153634.jpg

Test fit is perfect. Now to remove it, pull all the hardware and get it prepped for the powder coater.

Well, I've had the All-Pro Dual Swingout for about a month now and I have to say I love the design. The gates close firmly, there is no slop or bounce and everything just feels solid.

Big thanks to everyone @allpro -- very well thought out design.

Every time I see a spruce mica, I get super jealous. I desperately wanted that color, but just couldn't pass up the deal I got on my black one. Very cool build so far! I was living in MV a year and half ago, but I've since moved down to Everett. I'd be very interested in your canopy if you decide to go a different route. I really want one, but have had a lot of trouble finding a black SB secondhand.

Thanks man, yeah if I ever decide to go down the bedrack-RTT direction I'll keep you in mind! A handful of us got together down in Everett for burgers/brews & BS about a month or so ago. Keep an eye out for the meet and greets on the NW WA thread or the Skagit/Whatcom thread - the more the merrier!

Damn. Yeah I'd have been all for that. That was right around when I got my truck, so I wasn't too active on here before then. My family has some property up near Walker ive been meaning to go up to. Haven't gotten any dirt on mine yet.

I like the seat covers and are gonna have to check them out. How are they holding up and what kind of price were they?

So far they are holding up quite well. At the time I really wanted Wet Okoles but didn't want to drop that kind of coin on seat covers (these are about half the cost I think and have been a good next best option).

I like what you've done. What are you going to do for suspension?

    Still not sure yet.....

Thanks! I keep waffling back and forth between a King/Total Chaos Setup and a OME BP-51/Dakar setup......still haven't decided.

Sounds about right. I bet you're getting a bit of droop with the front armor. I have a winch and bumper up front and I can see a bit of droop when parked next to another stock suspension Tacoma. Been trying to figure out how I wanna go myself in that area.

Yeah that frickin' BAMF IFS is about 70lbs. Then between the sliders and the All Pro rear bumper, the truck is definitely shorter than it used to be.......

Nice. All my weight is on the nose, so I'm ass high. Plans so far don't have a lot of weight going out back. An adjustable front set of coils and heavier springs is going to be necessary to fight my problem.

Probably should make a build thread here.

I'm digging the shell/truck color combo. The mismatch of the 2 doesn't always look good but that looks great. Dare I say even better than if it were color matched.

Thanks man! It isn't as noticeable on the typical overcast days that we get here in the PNW 380 days a year but in full on bright sun you can see the difference more and I kinda wish it was color matched.....

......still for what I paid for it, beggars can't be choosers. I think it helps that the cap is also a metallic black rather than a gloss black so it matches the metallic spruce mica more.
