224.4 early this morning. Just about an even 10 pounds since we started this madness.
Finally made it clear to the Mrs that she does not need to make as large of portions. Cutting down on portion size and not getting second helpings has made this job of losing weight not as painful.

Once she learned that she was eating leftovers for 2 meals it was easier to make it clear I was not going to eat as much.

194 this morning. Down 17.8lbs since starting in thread, 46 lbs since I began in February- 6 months ago. Generally dropping about 1.75lbs per week. I really like the myfitnesspal app on my phone. I'd have to say that this has been a wonderful 'nag' on my shoulder every day. It's been fairly spot on as long as I do my part with keeping my intake honest. I began using it in March of this year.

Same here. The MFP app works pretty good and its just annoying enough to keep me on track.

I've been entering food as close as accurately that I can, but I still think it counts calories inaccurately. I often get the pop up saying that I may not be eating enough to stay healthy. I end up lying and saying I had a beer or a cookie. I dunno? I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. Im not losing weight stupid fast, so I know I'm getting decent calories.

I've found that you need to look at some of the macros tied to food selections, because they can be waaay off. Generally the labelled foods are accurate, but fresh cooked can be off. For example 'fresh fruit' has several selection options, and one shows NO sugar while another records the sugar. I made homemade spaghetti last night (with homemade sauce) and if I select a canned sauce- it reads a sugar and sodium content that I know does not reflect our homemade sauce.

I find I have to search for the closest match and go from there, or enter the food myself..

Just recently heard about "macro". Have no tell idea what it is. I do notice the app wants me to update to a paid version to be able to track these macros.

Is updating the app worth it to track these macros?

I find if you log into your account via a computer (not the phone app) you will find selections with a verified 'check'.

Try logging in and add a food to your lunch. Type in 'Fresh Fruit Mixed'. You should see a listing of options. The second one down has a check mark- you can click on the nutritional information and see the macros for that selection.
Search our food database by name:

So I went to my first Orange Theory class today. It was actually pretty cool. Kicked my butt haha.

I'm kind of tempted to join into their body transformation challenge. They do a weigh in, fat percentage, you get a personal trainer, and go three times a week. I'm not sure how long it goes, but whoever loses the most fat (or something) by percentage at the end wins $500 lol.

Pretty quiet around here. I behaved over the holiday. Didn't like it, but I was good.

Had one alcoholic drink over the weekend and today at school i had healthy snacks (hard peanuts, Gatorade, water) and I was supposed to work out with a former coworker but he never texted back so that didn't go through.

My legs/knees have been bothering me the last 2 days, don't know if it's the weather or what (they feel better with heat on them) but I'm going to run after school tomorrow and start cracking down on my schedule.

I need to get back on this. I've gone from working out (riding a mountain bike 70 miles a week) eating crappily and lost some weight to eating real healthy but not working out. Hopefully I can combine the two and lose about 20lbs. I've been pretty stuck at ~172.

Haven't been on a scale in 7 days, hoping for improvement. Still exercising every day and trying to eat better.

Having to work 12 hour shifts, it hard to eat a smaller final meal of the day. I'm usually going to bed directly after eating. Need to work on that hurdle.

Seems like this thread has done died off.

190.5 this morning. I posted in June that I was about 212 and my ultimate goal weight was 180-185 by January 1, so that's 21 lbs off in 3 months and say 10 lbs to go..

I've actually changed that goal and I want to shoot for 175, so 15lbs to go.

Since I started my weight loss in January, I've gone from a jean waist of ALMOST 40 down to a 33. I haven't fit in a 33 waist jean since I was in the Army almost 30 years ago.

I'm going to keep posting, maybe it will motivate others. Good luck to all.

    Nice work keep it up.
I'm still at it holding at 230 which is good considering the last month has been filled with lots of eating out and drinking and lots of no gym access.
