Has anyone had the front bumper pop out? Mine popped out after being tapped by a lady the other day. I tried putting back in and was in for my 10k appointment and the accessories guy told be that the bracket was missing a piece and I would have to replace the whole thing (see photo and the red rectangle). On the plastic piece there are 4 tabs on the top that insert into the painted bumper and the tab is what is apparently missing a piece and just doesn't sit all the way in. Seems like there should be a quick fix otherwise I'll just leave it until I replace the whole front later on. Any help would be appreciated!

same thing happened to me when I was off roading... it's secured by cheap plastic tabs. Replacement OEM part is about $800, so I said forget it. I just jammed it back in and will live with the slight gap for now.

I did see another thread here that some guy found a generic replacement for about $300 off ebay (I think).

Yeah I had same reaction. I was expecting maybe $200. For $800 I can get the entire front bumper replaced with an awesome aftermarket set up.

Apologies, but your whole post here is incorrect.

    - The black bumper valance pictured above is about $ 120 for the OR (matte unpainted) and about $200 for the painted models.

The PN for the OR black valance is : 53911-04210

    - The way it fits on the bumper, is there are 2 blue clips that needs to be released from behind the bumper, then the surrounding clips can be 'unclipped' if someone tapped you to where the valance pops off, then the 2 blue clips are likely broken and need to be replaced. To be honest, you'd be better off just buying a new valance if any of the clips are broken.

I certainly hope you are right. I went into the dealer and had the guy look up the part. This was last fall. He showed me the screen and price.

I really hope you are right.

Of course i'm right. I bought one - installed it on my sport model, and ended up selling it here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/or-lower-bumper-cover.443172/

Still don't believe me, just look up the part number I included, and you can see the prices from many many dealers.

Like I said, everything you posted was incorrect - really wish people would stop doing that.

That's pretty reasonably priced, particularly for the painted version.

Yep, I'm going to buy a spare since my stock one has a bit of rock chips.

I was also surprised at how inexpensive the painted mirror caps are.. About $40 bucks per side. Not bad since it comes painted.

Agreed, cheaper to buy them painted at that price point. Probably $25 for unpainted? Plus paint supplies, not including time.

I really like that. Have you installed it? Seems like a good alternative for a piece that keeps coming out from people nudging my truck (kinda want to get something that leaves a mark on their car). Thanks for all the replies. The accessories guy at my local dealer told me I also had to replace the painted part around it (thought that was wrong) as well. I'll check out the stock part too.
