15x8 + Spacers First Gen

hey y'all,

In searching, I've found some people say a 15x8 will clear the calipers and some say they won't. Some say it depends on the specific wheel?..

Ill throw the setup I'm looking to run below, any feedback would be appreciated! I do off road a good amount. I'll have 14"x700lbs springs on my Foxs cranked to 3" and Camburg uppers. Wheelers 5 leaf in the rear (1.5") and I'm going to add either another leaf or a shackle eventually when I grab a RTT

285s just don't look like... Enough for me, but want to avoid 35s so I don't have to chop the shit out of my wheel wells and regear asap.

Awesome setup, this is how I want to do my wheel/tire combo.

You'll definitely have to play around with some hammers and razors and other sharp cutting tools, but they'll fit eventually.

I'm wondering the same with the wheels though. I believe some other company makes the same style of steel wheel but with a slightly different "D pattern" to clear the calipers. Wheelers I think. Maybe they're only for 2nd gens calipers maybe? Not sure. Also have you found a steel wheel with 4.5" backspacing? That would be more ideal for this size tar.

 

Haven't found any, figured spacers would compensate. Have 4.5" of bs right now, but they're 16s.

These are cheap and Amazon prime, which is what makes them so tempting

 

Damn. The whole backspace problem and weight problem is the only thing holding me back from steel. I get jealous everytime I see this combo though.
