My wif and I really miss the lack of traffic we enjoyed while living in Wyoming. Exception being the tourist season - that is when all those wahoo drivers from the Interstates try on the wilderness......

We don't miss the 9 months of winter there but the Taco could probably deal with that - no problem. You all would just die to see the 20 unlocked pick-ups idling in the grocery parking lot while the drivers shop and visit.

I was in Pinedale, WY a few years ago to go backpacking into the Wind River Range. Left western Nevada where I worked at 10AM, crawled into my sleeping bag a few miles from Pinedale at midnight. Had breakfast the next AM in town. Drove thru town, found where all the pickups were parked and had breakfast there, only one in the place with shorts on, dressed to go bping. ATV's driving down the streets when I left to go home. Cool.

    Morning all:
Now that's putting it into perspective Tom, yea they aren't cheap.
I can't believe how fast the grass is growing this year, seems like it loves the heat and humidity that we have been experiencing, need to mow again! :(

Ever find any arrowheads when you are hiking/camping Duane? Plenty of them laying around.

Oops forgot, I didn't make it over but Ollie just turned 103, need to stop by and wish him happy birthday.

Found out the POTUS is coming to town again. I thank him in advance for messing up the traffic next week.

Well, if you're a fly fisher type, you'll need to avoid the Yellowstone River. It is closed. Big White Fish die off. Parasite. Very few Rainbows and Browns dying, but closed as a precaution. The wife and I were going to go out there mid September. Ended up not doing that trip. Going to the Shasta area instead.

I guess to be an official member of the 60+ thread I have to share an injury story.

About 4 months ago I made the mistake of wearing socks only in a house (mine) with a lot of hardwood flooring. So, I slipped going down the stairs and slammed my elbow in the edge of a bookcase. After a couple weeks I stopped thinking about it. Fast forward to three weeks ago a the elbow is giving me problems. Swollen. Some pain. I go to doc. No bone spurs. But the bursa is damaged. Wearing a compress bandage for 6 weeks. If no good results the next step is a shot. If that doesn't do the trick, then removal of bursa. Guess it grows back. Damn. I did not know that. Best luck is I'm left handed, and it's the right elbow that is in pain.

As far as messing up traffic, he's a master at that. Could that be his legacy? When I was in Flori-bama area for the BP spill he closed down a huge chunk of freeway for over an hour. Just because he was passing through. Unreal.

Just a thought on the impacted wisdom teeth.
I also had 4 impacted wisdom teeth. The dentist in the service told me I should have them removed, and that one day I may wake up with a gigantic swollen jaw caused by one of them. One finally came through, and about a year ago got real loose after a few minor toothaches, and the dentist wanted to remove it, nope let it there until I absolutely have to have it removed, a few months back I was flossing and bingo it popped out with no pain what so ever! I still have the other 3 that are impacted and they have never caused a problem, but that's me and it may be different for others and cause problems down the road if not taken care of.

    Carl:
The 4 wisdom teeth were crowding the molars. I have come to believe the entire dental business is a huge racket. When we were young your family dentist did braces, fixed cavities, did root canals, did crowns and removed teeth. Today everything is a specialist. Last week was a car payment and a half to have the wisdom teeth removed. All told since his braces I could have bought a very nice 1995 Corvette ZR1. Provided the CFO would let me. LOL ;)

Yup he'll close down the entire freeway in BOTH directions until he's long gone. Also no fishing or boating in Kailua Bay around the house he stays in.

No kidding, I went to get a root canal and the specialist had pictures of racing yachts all over his office.

I must have a good old dentist as he does everything in his office except braces. Have root canals, pulled a bad tooth, and he did what he called a hemi-section when cracked a tooth( he removed the smaller half and left the bigger half, did a root canal and capped it.) that was 20 years ago and have had no problems at all. Put braces on all 3 of my kids and the only one that still has reasonably straight teeth is my daughter. They all shifted a bit over the years.o_O
I feel for you Cheech if and when POTUS comes back to HI. Nothing like major traffic problems for the locals because of a visitor. Good luck handling the traffic.

I guess he wanted you to see how your money was being spent:eek::facepalm:.

Hope the elbow heals up for you Don. Don't need any surgery.

I found one arrowhead years ago in the Devils Postpile area, down by Mammoth Lakes, CA. Native Americans used the area in the summer evidently, due to obsidian chips and mortars in the granite slabs by the creek there.
I'll only be fishing in Glacier NP, not Jellystone NP. When I get out of the back country of Glacier, I'll be heading to MN to visit my aunts and uncles, then head back home late September, hopefully only to sign papers to change owners of my late moms property. Her place has been lots of work for my brother, his wife and I.

Nice. I've never been to Glacier. Some day. Haven't been to MN in a few years. My wife is from there. Just south of M/StP. Her family are farmers.

Glacier is very nice, great scenery, take a shuttle if you can to see more stuff.
One uncle and my late grandfather farmed, my uncle also worked for Burlington Northern at night. I have not been there since the summer Yellowstone caught fire when we had a family reunion.
