I'm not a dealer. Ambiguous from this website did it. Hard to get a hold of. Bhlm isn't much though, main cost is the Oem.

^Yeap. My bulb retails at $160 and projectors are around $100 untuned with stock lens. So yeah, it adds up quick!

I'm sure they can. Way cheaper than a full retrofit and much easier

If your like me you spend money on the good stuff the first time. Well try to at least. 3k soon to be 4k in suspension. And over 1k on Burts amazing headlights that still work great and look great to this day.

X2. If I can't afford to do it right the first time, I wait until I can.

This is exactly why I just sent Burt some $$$ for a set of these lights... Now the waiting game begins...:playball:

**posted this in Lighting forum, but I know this thread has more action**

    Hey Guys,

I installed some retros @RAD made for me (sick looking), but need help wiring halos. I looked at the "instructions" on The Retro Sources site, but as an electrical am I need more details.

Could anyone provide a little more insight with regards to what wires they tapped where, etc?

I have a fuse tap and switch for the cab already. Maybe some pictures would be of great help.

    Thanks!

Also, am I now paranoid for wanting to get a good front plate bumper to get a little extra protection for my soon-to-be-awesome retro headlights? And it's mostly a mall crawler. Torn between Pelfreybilt steel with center hoops (~115lbs) and the Fab Fours Vengeance with PreRunner guard (~75lbs)...thoughts?

EDIT: I'm probably going for the Fab Fours. Lower weight and great look... Plus, my usual shop guy hadn't heard of Pelfreybilt before :facepalm:

Can someone tell me if I wire up my halos with switchback function I will need resistors for turn signals? I feel as though I read that somewhere...

Anyone know what these guys use to seal the headlights? Is it silicone based? I need to fix mine and wanted to know the best way to go about it.

Do you have any suggestions on why my high beams won't work? I've checked bolt age at the morimoto harness and getting nothing with low beams on, then when I pull the lever to engage highs beams it shows almost 12v. Neither side will flip to high beam though or even sound like they are trying.

What projector are you using? (FRX, Morono, etc)

Sounds like the harness works and is getting voltage with high beams. However for some reason, both projectors aren't going into high beam mode? Odd for both to be like that. Especially when you test the solenoid with a 9v battery
    I believe he said tl

That's what is crazy to me. It's both sides. I actually don't remember doing the 9v. Can't remember if I did or not. Just hook it up to the headlight input for the high beam? Red (wire at headlight housing) to + side of battery?

Try cycling the high beam solenoid only with the engine off - you should be able to hear to move and see the shield move in the headlight when looking at it from the front. It may take moving your head around to get the angle to see it well enough through the front lens (assuming clear lens) . If the solenoid is firing, but not fully moving the shield, then my experience may have been similar.
When I received my Morano's, one of the lights only partially retracted the shield and the other one did not at all - the solenoid was firing, but the shield was stuck. I ended up taking the bulb out (carefully) and reaching in with a well cleaned finger and cycling the solenoid while pushing on the shield to get it to retract. Some push down and some pull back, so you may need to feel the way the shield is trying to go - the Moranos go down, not sure of the TL's unfortunately. Hopefully, the TLs aren't ay deeper as the morano was at the limit for me. After many cycles, I finally got both of them freed up and they have been fine since. It felt like there was some silicone or other in the way of the solenoid or the shield that had to be worked through. It's not something for the faint of heart as if you bend the shield, then it's stuck in that position for good, so do so at your own risk.
