    Gym jamz,
Thanks for the info last night! Was thinking about color matching plastic portion of head lights, any heat issues you know of? Reflector bowls will be black.

Nah. My 1st retro everything was painted black. My current one is color matched. No problems, just make sure it dries good so you don't have paint fume problems

    gym jamz,

I saw offshore's post and had the same exact questions. Just to clarify, If i do a halo kit like you have pictured; I will have to have 2 separate switches inside the cab to operate the halos? 1 just dedicated to white and the second dedicated to orange? or would it be 1 switch that is 3 position? ON OFF ON?

It wasn't a kit. It was how I wired mine. I have one switch that turns the white portion of the halo on and off. My amber will always blink with my turn signals. I also have it wired to another relay, so when my headlights are on, my switch can't turn it on, no matter what. Amber still blinks though.

Everyone has their own way of wiring it. The most simple is to have your White portion tapped into your dtrl and amber tapped into your rear turn signals

You can probably use the xchange driver TRS sells. Haven't looked into it or played with it yet

Loving everything you all have done here, have you all just done the BLHM or are you buying your headlights like this? I have looked almost everywhere to find lights with clear markers and blinkers. If anyone could send me in the right direction? I'm debating with the idea of buying some stock headlights off of rockauto and doing the BHLM and retro fit vs trying to find headlights on ebay that are already black. I have read there is a big difference in clarity of the clear plastic/glass between stock and aftermarket? Maybe my concerns are null.... I like both of these to give you an idea what I am looking for.

I would recommend building/retrofitting your own. You can paint whatever you want in the housing black and decided to leave your DTRL or turn signals chrome and the output will be way better than just buying a set of aftermarket lights online. If you don't want to build your own there are a few members who build and sell them on the forum. Worth every penny the only thing I wish I did different when getting mine was getting OEM headlights because the coating on the insde of the lens is starting to peel. But the output is fantastic still. check out @RECHELON

Reviving this thread- going to be doing mine soon. For those who have painted the DRL reflector bowls, can you give some input?

I'm running some Oracle halos, kept the factory housings. Anyway I could send them and pay you to do this? I sure would appreciate it.

I am looking to get new American Retrofit headlights for a 2006 tacoma. I'm not very familiar with headlights so I am not sure what is required with them. I want to have front colored halos, but what else do I need to use the halos? Thanks

@biohazard2070 Dan would you help me in identifying the shrouds and halos used in this build? It looks killer.
