Haha yeah I know! I may just use the rustoleum rubberized spray to just coat it for now

Good luck getting that bullshit off while everything underneath it rusts. Try POR15 or Naval Jelly, then paint.

Not to be confused with navel jelly, which is a while other thing.

POR15 is incredible. My uncle is using it to restore an old Model A. Full respirator and tyvek suit though if you use that stuff.

Big shout out to @Dave41079 for being a fairly alright dude. Pretty cool project happening down the road. Probably the only compliment you're getting for a while. Enjoy.

I take what I get. I only did it because you're a fairly alright dude as well...and because you threw your meth chair into a fire.

OBA is up next because, well, it's been sitting in my shed. ARB CKMA12 compressor.

Step one is ridding it of LBL mud. Check.

There is zero room to work in this cab so I pulled the passenger seat. Also ditched the little fold out cup holder thingamajig.

You know that feeling when something fits exactly like you had hoped it would? Yea, that just happened. With only millimeters to spare. :woot:

I had to get rid of this bungee tie down by drilling out the rivets. I'm not sure what it was intended to hold. Just be sure not to drill too deep.

Made a cardboard template for the holes and drilled them.

Mounted with plenty of room for the hose hookup.

Here's a shot showing the room between the floor and the bottom of the compressor.

Wired the switch by tapping into the hot for the 12v outlet. Also tapped the illumination wire for the A/C panel.

I'll be operating the compressor from the passenger side of the truck so I made the switch face that way. It's the little things.

Plenty of room for my accessories.

And my favorite part of this whole project... Like it's not even there.

Completely unrelated to truck building, but it's something I get even more excited about so here you go. I went to check a couple of my duck holes yesterday. This is 5' tall smartweed (ignore the green leafy stuff below my left arm. It is behind me with the big seed heads.) Smartweed is crack cocaine for ducks. It looks so peaceful now, but three months from now when that smartweed is all under water, you can't imagine the carnage and mayhem that will happen there.

    Oooo I can't wait.

I got the compressor mounted last night. Post #130 at the top of the page edited with pics. Wiring will be next. I'll have to extend all the wires. I still hate wiring as much as ever. Anyone need a good project?

    Looks great!

    Enjoying your new build.

Those rivets you drilled out look like the bracket that holds the factory bottle jack or tire tools.
