Some ppl get in over their heads with a new vehicle and that’s a real problem too. But for mechanical issues the remedy is the lemon laws, and yes I agree that they need more teeth in some states, but sometimes just because they exist and could be exercised is enough to get a dealer motivated to enact repairs or replacement.

And if the vehicle starts everyday and takes you everywhere you want to go, it still has one of the best re-sales value out there for a trade.
And that’s a positive over and above most new vehicles.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

I love my truck but this is how I feel also. Jeep doesn't have these issues.

Yes Sir, IDIOT. You actually believe the tech that gets paid maybe an hour to conduct all the checks on the that PDI checklist actually took the time to check the transmission fluid level. Keep dreaming, you must be a oopps won't go there, cant get into politics. The tech looks it over if there are no obvious leaks its full DONE.

Ignorance is bliss, and there are a lot of people living blissfully ignorant lives. Just look at our forum.

And stupid is repeating the same broken record over and over and over and over and expecting a different result. Those people I ignore and it works... (I responded to you, so you're not ignored or stupid. Those who are may or may not be able to tell who they are. :) )

Yea, July 2016 build has been 100% so far, and I came to this forum early to know what to look for. Maybe coming from a Cummins Turbo Diesel made me a little desensitized to vibrations. :)

Compared to the 2015 Ram and the 2013 Jeep we replaced, the Toyota is pure luxury and exceptionally well made. That's been my experience so far.

I'm a 2016 Tacoma owner with a July build date. No issues here and love the truck. I came from a 2010 Tundra 5.7 and definitely think the Tacoma is smoother and more refined. Does lack the 5.7 power obviously but knew that going into purchase. Still think Tacoma has plenty of power though.

My TRD off-road Access Cab was ordered in March 2016, built on April 19th, and delivered to the dealer on April 25th. (my birthday)
Unfortunately, I was out of town and didn't pick it up until the 26th.
So far, I haven't noticed any issues with it. (insert sound of knocking on wood):)
It currently has 3500 miles on the clock.

OP don't tell people on here you don't have any issues with your truck because someone will find some issues for you. Take it back to your dealer and complain to them that you know there's got to be something wrong with your truck because you read about them here.

Yeah lol . Honestly though I have zero issues . Just drove 300 miles in six days and I love the truck . It's got plenty of power and really gets up and goes with pressure on the pedal. Flies up hills too without searching for gears .

Build date matters for sure . All I can say is I almost didn't get my Tacoma because of what others were saying . I had an 07 I should have never sold had no issues with 110k lifted .

Moral of my story , this truck was the best investment so far in a vehicle . I see it lasting a long long time . I paid for an in depth inspection because they wouldn't give it to me for free (they took 4K off the truck Msrp lol). Fluids are all on point .

The likelihood of this truck developing any of the early 1st gen 3 series is minimal in my opinion .

Everyone get along . We could be in worse vehicles like a Chevrolet dodge jeep or ford .

    Build . Date . Matters .

Build date dosent matter, as guys with June-July build dates have been having problems at least in the diff howl thread. I was a 5/19 build and have the diff howl. I love my truck, but won't bury my head and say no issues as its very evident and acknowledged by Toyota Service Advisors.

Youre right guys with those build dates are Haveing problems all so, I'm actually on the TSB for Tranny issues but knock on wood haven't experienced any so no need to get TSB done, I have Owned a 07 Tundra which was first year and guys were Haveing problems As well as myself, and Toyota did step up to the plate and took care of those issues.. I then Had a 12 tundra and like a dumb ass should of kept it!! then I saw the new bad ass 15 was comeing out had to have it lol!! now I downsized to save on gas.. but just want to say to everyone that is Haveing 1st year issues Toyota will eventually make it Right...

And that seems to be the case. I just think a lot of us are apprehensive when its transmissions and differential components, especially since a lot of us want this truck to take us to 120k problem free.

Well, maybe build date minimizes the chances of existing issues in the 3rd gen ?

Don't get me wrong, if my truck had some of the issues y'all are having, I would be extremely upset. I mean, these trucks aren't cheap.
