Calling all Toyota owners in the Lynchburg and Charlottesville and surrounding areas!

Ok, I just found out my son had to park off campus in fort hill by the Lynchburg bowling alley. Is his ride going to be ok there?
Btw: everyone I have met all over Lynchburg has been very nice.

You have a 50-50 chance, worse than that if people know there are LU cars just left there. It's not a bad neighborhood by any means. LU has a Lynchburg in the palm of their hands, which is why I moved to the country, so it will be patrolled frequently by local police. I find it surprising, there are a million parking spaces on campus but it seams like every student brings two cars when school is in. To sum my rant up, make the car look clean and NOTHING visable from outside, he should be just fine, those that don't will be targeted, if any. He will love it here!

Hey dudes - Anyone interested in getting a group together and heading down to potts end of october/first weekend of november? Weather will be great by then so I was thinking an overnight friday/saturday or saturday/sunday...

I'm assuming your son is a freshman at LU lol... I was at one time too lol ... yes it will be safe with the other 300+ cars in the lit parking lot lol I go to the gym in the parking lot every morning ... does he drive a lifted Tacoma too? I saw a really nice one this morning!

 

Thank you for the reassurance on the parking deal. I tried to get him to go the a tacoma, but he wanted a 4runner. Can't complain, '08 4runner stock 4x4 with just over 100,000 miles. He should get many years out of it. Are you still going to LU?

Easily! No wife and I are finished up with school (2013), and are working now lol, I had a lifted 4runner before my taco! Loved it, just always wanted the versatility of a truck for the farm lol ... if he ever needs help with the 4runner let me know, Lynchburg is a great place, he will enjoy it!

 

Thanks! Where is a good safe place to go camping up there, that is not a rv park?

 

To be honest you just hop on blue ridge parkway (25-30 min from lu) and there are tons of gravel roads that lead to trail heads, there are camping spots all over the place! Appalachian trail (do a sectional hike and camp on the way!) ... limitless lol that's why I like it here, you have everything in Lynchburg and then have the mountains/country just minutes away!
