Ok, the deed is done. Got back from some pretty rutted trails last week, all of my 'beadlock' rings got some good scratches/gashes in them.

Well worth the 35 bones to paint the bolts in the beadlock ring. Can't wait to slap my S/T Maxx's on these bitches and get them mounted. Thanks for the awesome product Vin! Will upload pictures the second I get them on.

Geez, called discount tire to quote 4 sensors and mount and balance. $354.36 out the door.

Asled about cloning my sensors and he said it doesn't work. If you park too close to the other set it tries to read 8 codes or something.

When I worled in a garage it was $8 per wheel for balancing and $30 for putting tires on bare wheels, $45 to remove and replace tires with $2 per tire disposal fee.

That's odd. I got clones in mine. I park next to my steelies with the originals and I've never had any problems...

Ended up just buying some refurbished sensors. Come with sensors and a kit. States they check battery levels etc..

My only concern is the 30 day Guarantee lol. Not sure what the battery level needs to be to make it 30 days.

Oh well, if they fail I'll just go the way of the dinosaurs and use a gauge once a week and monitor it myself.

Hoping to get them on this weekend, going to do it in the driveway, not sure of the rubbing I might have. Hoping it is minimal, caster is at 4.0 degrees, have about 2" of lift and plate bumper so a little clearance in front. Not planning on wheeling anytime soon, just not sure of all the contact points. I know mud flaps and cab mounts(have CMC plates on the counter and a welder on stand by).

Lets do this thing. Sensors and refurbish kits got here a bit ago, heading out to get everything on the truck. Hoping I can leave them on without rubbing concerns. I'll know in a few hours I guess.

    Not going to happen today.

Called Discount Tire, they said they could do it if I dropped it off. Only taking walk ins and would be 3-4 hours. Had my brother set up to pick me up and drop back off later.

When I got there the place was an absolute wreck. Some sort of major construction going on. Cars double parked and no way to trun around with a tow truck waiting to offload a car with a flat. Said screw that due to so much traffic, lot clutter, and dirt and debris everywhere. Not leaving my truck with $1600 of wheels and tires in the bed in that mess for 3-4 hours.

Every other place I called was booked, the ones that said sure bring it on in had antiquated tire machines and couldn't guarantee not scratching them.

While I appreciated their honesty, I declined.

Try to set something up Monday for Friday or Saturday. A place here called Pomps that was recommended but thwy closed at noon.

Be patient brother. Don't rush it only to have someone fuck up your shit or having to get it re-done because they didn't do the job right.

That's my number one concern. Envisioning one of the antiquated tire machines with the vertical screw down clamp and 20lb steel bar.

Many mom and pop shops still use them

So while I have another 6-7 day wait...

For those of you with a basic lift set up and 285/7x/1x tires, what is your current caster set at and was there rubbing on the cab mount, pinch weld or mud flaps? I'd like to avoid the CMC if possible, but have the BAMF CMC blanks if need be. I'm not worried about liner trimming, have other ideas to try if it is an issue.

I hear most people say to push the caster out to 3, but I have 4 now and could probably get 4.3 before drivability is overly affected. Already get a bit of bump steer, more like groove steer as it likes to follow larger cracks in the road at times.

Dude if you got 285 anything you need to remove your mudflaps and get a cab mount chop or you're gonna rub. You can try not to by adding some castor but then you'll start rubbing on the front of the inner fender. And thats just on road. Once you go offroad you're gonna rub like crazy, especially with so much backspacing on these rims and wider tires.

I didn't add caster. Had an OME lift ordered, got in on an All Pro UCA group buy and went for it. With those UCA's i got 4 degrees of caster.

Not asking for the regardless of what you do crowd, asking for those with these wheels and tire size to speak up.

Well I've had 285/75/16 on 4.5 BS rims before so I'm speaking from experience. I also ran 295/75/16 tires on these rims and rubbed like crazy. Again, speaking up from exerience

14Tacoma could go to a 285/55/16...I think it's a 55 series tire. Guys on here are running them without issues. Kinda skinny though.

    You're a little mixed up. You're thinking 255/80r17 or 255/85r16
