What are you going to do for fender flares

 

Cut em and paint em black

 

I used a product called Flexy Flare it comes in a 25' roll it's nice because when you bump on a tree it bends out of the way and pops right back.

Neat idea for the aux fuse box. Another idea, you can actually bend plexiglass by slowly heating it up. Once hot enough it will bend just like aluminum. The key is to slowly heat it, go too fast and it will discolor and bubble.

Yes, yes it was lol. I just finished putting it all back together though. Decibel difference results to follow! Just driving around the block there's a much noticeable difference.

 

Looks like you did a great job. I did mine last fall and it is amazing at how much of a difference it made. Next time it rains hard you'll really like how quiet it is. Enjoy your quiet truck.

Haha all good. Just a piece of flat bar and three holes drilled. Took me half an hour not including painting.

 

Like 3 weeks until the big day then a week in Aruba and the boy is back in commission. But between now and then we got to at least link up let me see the Sub-Zero beast in person. It's been quite the transformation

 

The rear lights hard to install?

 

It wasn't too bad. I made it more difficult than it shoulda been by cutting the holes a bit too close to the center. Ended up having to cut some meat off the bumper brackets to provide clearance. So the cutting and grinding took a while lol. I spliced them into my backup lights for now, thinking about getting a switch for it later on

 

That's the biggest reason I haven't done mine yet. There is literally one place they can go and yet the cuts better be right!

 

That's my plan, I'm gonna try and rig up a jig to bend it with some wood panels and hinges this week. I'll post the results. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to bend the plexiglass at the end enough to replace the metal mounting bracket because I'm worried about it getting more brittle over time and breaking around the bolts. I'm already planning to put some bigger washers around the bolts that attach the plexiglass to the metal piece right now.
