What is the best lift for around $250-$300?
And that's pushing it withy wife so no more but less isn't bad.
I found a ready lift kit on Amazon 3' front and 2' back for $220 or so.
    Would that be OK?
    I don't off road, unfortunately.

OME up front, Dakar in the back, Elite front bumper, Warn winch, Tactical rear bumper with tire swing/jerry cans/hi lift, Revenge Fab. sliders, Tundra brakes, Camburg UCA's, Safari Snorkle, FJ TRD wheels, Lights, CB, Switches, skids, LED's... OH MY!
If you don't offroad then you can get away with going the cheaper route... especially if you are really just interested in the look vs. performance.

Spacers up front and blocks in the back will be fairly cheap... may have to upgrade struts too... not sure. I did full suspension lift so all those upgrades are a part of the deal

    Stock. For now.
You will.have to do blocks. Ride won't be great. And I wouldn't recommend doing any hard off roading.

All said save your money and take your wife to a really nice dinner Instead. I don't think the cost vs benift is there.

    Check Build thread
5100s in the front will run you 200 an you can use stock coils and is a suspension lift.

Not sure what descent lift in the rear would run you 100 though

Good point. Although you start sacrificing travel for a lift. Personally I would t do it. But if he is sold on a lift it's better than blocks and a good suggestion

Keep an eye out on the for sale section of the forum for anyone ditching their 5100/OME setups, might be close to your price range but still likely over.

Honestly the best "quality budget" lift you can do is what I and many others here run, ,and it ran me about $900. 5100s all around, OME coils and 3 leaf AALs for the rear. Gotta pay to play, and please no body lifts.

If you really want this lift, do 5100s front with stock coils and set them at 2.5"(~$180). Get a 1.5" aal in the rear (~80). I'd say that's the best bang for your buck.

Maybe his wife just doesn't want him spending more money on the truck.

I just did OME 885 coils and Bilstein 5100 shocks. 1.5" aal. Spent around $650. That would've been fine. Last minute I bought new upper control arms (im told not 100% necessary) for another $400. Headstrong Offroad hooked me up with everything but the add a leaf. Got a good deal on that here in tacomaworld.

This^^^...will work just fine for your street application and is within your budget and better than a spacer/block lift.

If you don't do much heavy off roading do 5100s in front with stock coils and a 1.5" single AAL in back. Parts + shipping should be less than $300. You don't need different coils or different rear shocks, anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong. This is the setup I initially went with and it was noticeably better than stock. Anyone who tells you the ride/handling will suffer has likely never ran that setup or was expecting a Cadillac like ride.

$425 buys a way better budget lift.

    Install not included.
    5100s front. Stock coils.
    5100s rear. Single leaf AAL.

Not sure what you want to get flamed about.

Rear shocks are presumably 10 years old, well beyond their service life.

Just keep an eye on the SC thread or the Southeast Yard Sale thread. I ended up getting my rear Bilsteins off a SC buddy on here and got a damn good deal on a set of front Bilsteins on Jet.com and bought my AAL from another SC guy for cheap. I like my trucks current height, its just right for me(being short) and it still rides well.
