Marylanders Unite w/ Pics

There is a Md.Tacomas page mostly made up of 2nd gen owners and a good percentage of them live in the Baltimore area..when your ready to buy after market armor look up @Mobtown Offroad they are a Md based company

 

I have been doing so much reading and honestly the threads I have found everyone chimes in from all generations, this I love, but I am lost.

Here is where I am. I really don't know the difference for the second gen o/r vs Sport. I have no clue what plates or protection I will need or are on the truck now.

Here is what I do know. It will mostly be a daily driver but I want to be able to have some fun too. I know my buddy has some places he wants to go. I just want to make sure it is all protected.

I will be replacing the tires by winter.

So any suggestions would be great.

I know some of this should be in another forum, but we are in the same area. What we need here maybe not the same as what they need out west.

Trucks are a new world to me- My subaru was my toy for 11 years and I did things the "right" was, not just to make it look good. I want to continue that with my truck.

we could all use more epic adventure road trips in our lives. I'm in Maryland for work though. grew up in Virginia, but left the state for school and work. the company I work for (out of texas), could have sent me anywhere in the world, and I was lucky enough to get moved to Maryland, close to family, friends, and home. been here for 2 years, and have about another year left on this job.

 

Nice! I live up in Rockville and my mom lives down there in Solomons so i get down there a lot. If I ever happen to see your and your truck again I'll try to say Hi.

And yes, epic road trips are good for the soul. Back in 1992 when I was 21 and just out of college I drove 10,000 miles in 8 weeks all around the US. In an 85 MR2, of all things. May have been the most memorable 2 months of my life.

 

hell of a car for that trip! I'm restoring an 88 Fiero right now. The Pontiac brother from another mother to the MR2

 

Come December my build should be mostly complete and i will be traveling from Maryland to San Diego in my Taco. I plan on spending allot of time in New Mexico, Arizona and Southern California. Hit some trials by the Mogollon Rim and I'm sure there is plenty of stuff to do on the the Mojave Road. i plan to make it a 2 week trip at least. This will be my first road trip across the country and i am super excited.
