If you weren't going to get a tacoma, what would you get?

Silverado double cab z71 4x4. It was still tempting even with the Taco, but with the Taco removed from the options, then the Silverado woulda been my choice.

 

TRD Pro 4R or the 2017 Raptor.

 

Or an F150.

 

I'm waiting to see what ford is doing with the Ranger. That thing looks sick and IMO ford builds good trucks. Esp within the last few years their products have improved vastly.

The economy is on the rise and there is a lot of competition among the producers. Makes life good for us lowlife consumers.

 

I seriously looked at getting an "IT" before my Tacoma. They get great milage.

4runner trail or wrangler rubicon if I still needed some cargo space and wanted to go off road which is the reason I am getting the taco.

if I didn't need the cargo space and wanted to go off road would be getting an audi S4

 

I'm still trying to run my 09 Ranger into the dirt. I have a brake line that needs to be replaced so she sits for now. Once I get her fixed I'll split the DD duties between her and my Taco. I'd buy a New Ranger as long as they were as dependable as the old.

 

If the ranger styling looks decent and they have some good offroad options/capabilities, I'll definitely be giving them a VERY hard look.

 

F 150 for sure. Almost did. Glad I got the tacoma. A few thing that OP have with the transmission like
the flair 2nd to 3rd, low fluid. But, I bought the tacoma because resale and reliably and cost.

Look at the 2016 and 2017s on YouTube. They are great. I have faith that whatever ford brings here will be competent for sure. They have been patiently waiting and watching the GM twins and the Taco to see what they need to do.

 

What engne options you think they might have. Maybe the 3.5 eco-boost.

 

They look alright. They said the US version will have a grill more like the f150s

 

They said they are supposedly using that as the performance version with 400 and 400

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford offered up a small diesel.

 

They have 2 different diesel offerings over seas in the ranger right now

I can slide into an FX-4 XLT F-150 loaded with lots of do-dads and a V8 for the same or less than a Taco.This is killing me.
