Finished up this retrofit for a client using Morimoto 7.0 H1 Projectors and Morimoto RGB Halos and HID kit. The housing was painted all matte black.

Rear bumper going on this weekend or next, then powder coat. Some new headlights would look good with my new bumper!

I like the new bumper! I want to do a few things as well, lift, wheels, and so on... but I figured I use my headlights EVERYDAY so it made sense to start with that.

Can someone school me on these? I have been seeing these for years on here and still don't understand why anybody would want blue, or orange, or green lights. Can't imagine they are actually legal to drive around on the road.

Just for looks. Personally I would do amber for DRLs. Maybe switchbacks, white and amber. Definitely wouldn't be legal on road in an other color most places. Although if you ever drive angry, you could turn the red on to warn other motorists.

Lighting laws vary based on each state and local municipality. I honestly didn't care about the color'ed lights- but that didn't factor into my build cost so I didn't complain. Where I am you can have colored lights, but they can't strobe blue unless you are police. Red for EMS, White Strobe are legal, amber as well etc.

I just like the idea of the upgraded projector housing. My last taco started to get some hazing on on the headlights, I felt like was driving down the road with a candle lighting the way hoping for the best. :fingerscrossed:

Just seems senseless to me, but to each their own as they say.

I don't disagree. If I end up reselling these someday, I bet you that it will make someone extra happy that they have RGB lighting- but to me it was just an extra add on with no cost association.

I get you with the colored lights. I imagine people with accent colors would like them and it would probably look nice. Projectors are nice but i wouldnt get all the extra colors unless i was trying to match my accent colors.

I have a super white so my accent color is black! I would like to get a set of black housing lights with a white shroud. But that is down the road a bit. There are a couple things i want more than a $1k set of headlights right now. But i do want them!

I think you can get a basic setup done for you in the $700 range. I upgraded to the better HID bulbs for an extra $150?

I was looking at a '16 Tundra Platinum and ended up saving money on the New to me Taco. HID's were factored into my budget and loan along with wheels, tires, and lift and with all of these add ons I still came out over $20K less than what the Tundra was going to cost.

Headlights are on the way! I'm deciding on the rims and tires. I think I'm doing Billstiens 5100's and AAL via HeadStrong within the next few weeks!

Halos are show factor ;) the real upside is the output and being able to see at night.
