Until just now I have had to have my key in the on position to get my windows to work on my 15 Access cab. I just pulled into my driveway, removed the key and when I went to get out hit the window switch. Damn things went up and down with no key. Tried both windows several times. Full power to both of them, no key.
Is this normal or was the previous state (needing the key) an issue?

I can roll the windows up/down after removing the key as long as I have not opened the door. Once you open a door there is no more power to them.

Thanks for the replies. I just checked and no power. In almost two years I have either left them up or down when I get out. I have never checked for that feature!
I guess I learned something new today about the truck.

On my '04 Highlander and '13 Tacoma the power for windows, lights and radio work for several minutes (10?) after ignition off. Or until you opened the door.

Yours does too. It's in the owners manual.

I guess I should read about the interior features sometime. I never read them much past fluid types and capacities and fuse locations and tow ratings.
I swear today was the first time I ever tried the windows without the key in the ignition
