anyone else have shift boot problems?

the shift boot popped out of its casing at some point and when i try to just pop it back into what seems to be the plastic clip type rail, it doesn't seem to fit back in. just bought the 2014 from the dealership a few weeks ago. anyone have this problem too? maybe the heat is messing with the shift boot.
