1500 miles ago i got my leaf springs replaced on my 2010 trd, i had the 3 leaf packs and they told me they would only put 3 leaf pack back on, not the 4. well i complained every time they called me that i wanted the 4 pack, well to my surprise when i picked up the truck it had the 4 pack. woo hoo. now i went camping and drove about 1500 miles with a load in the truck, about 800 lbs. so i figure the springs have set. i would like to put a leveling kit for the front as the rear sitting higher now, i dont need much as i usually have a 400lbs of tools in a gangbox in the back, just about 1 to 1.5 inches to make it close to level. But i dont see any for gen 2. does anyone know someone who makes some shorter than 2 inches. i don't want to raise the whole truck as this is a daily driver.

so are my springs set or should i give it longer?

    and shorter spacers?

    thanks

The Bilstein 5100s have adjustable clips to raise the front, the first setting after zero is 0.85". Better would be to run those shocks on zero and get the eibach springs that lift the front 1.6". Might as well get new shocks on all 4 corners.

You could get 1/2" top plate spacer and longer studs and thatll raise you up an inch.

What cab do you have? I put OME 883 springs on my access cab with OME struts and ended up with 1.5" of lift after the springs settled. Rides much better than stock on and off road.

i have an access cab, and i like the idea of new Bilstein 5100, how does ride quality change with them, smooth rough ect. And actually i work at the bilstein shock plant in Cincinnati Ohio a few weeks ago on an addition to their main building, they are putting in a new manufacturing line. they are very particular about everything which says a lot about their company.

The 5100's are a decent shock, but not valved much differently than OE. Most folks use the perch options to gain lift with. That method creates preload on the coils, not your optimum choice.

Sorry I previously left the link out in post 2 above.

Go back and read the posts I pointed you to in that link. It might help.

I have the bilstein 5100s set at 1.75" while using the trd sport springs. In my opinion it rides well. Its not harsh by any means. Offroad springs will ride way firmer if compressed wtih the 5100s.
