I was driving and my power steering just *click* ...gone. No assist. Okay I check the belt, still good. I check the fluid, still okay. I replace my power steering pump, okay that's done but no assist. I replace my rack and pinion, okay that's done but no assist. I'm lost fellas, I don't know if i did something wrong or maybe another part needs to be replaced or what... Can anyone offer ideas?

When you replaced the pump, did you get a new reservoir, or did you re-use the old one?

    Jammer,
I read through all of that and it looks similar however I already went through one pump I'm on the second. The second pump still whines and I drove it while still not having any power assist. Could that have caused this pump to go bad as well? I just replaced the rack today and I had a heck of a time doing it as the new bushing made it difficult to mount. I turned the wheel stop to stop about 3 times but It still may have air in the system, it looks like smooth atf no bubbles though. I wonder if maybe I messed up on the install or if its just air in the system or even that its a bad rack and/or pump. Augh! serenity now...

Yes I already ripped it out, intending on cleaning it and reinstalling it. However, that proved to be easy to clean but difficult to reinstall. In the end I just left it out.
