Technically you can't rebuild them becuase of the mid gasket. Some guys have had luck finding one (gasket), not sure where though.

If you ride as much as you brag about you shouldn't need to keep your gas stable...shit lasts for like 6mo

Seafoam isn't meant to be a regular thing in an engine. I'm betting that's making it worse.

Right. So gas can't go stale if you're filling up like once a week. Seafoam is doing more harm than good. It's alcohol based, so all you're doing is adding MORE alcohol to your fuel. It isn't magically turning e10 into e0.

I'm terrified of getting a tank slapper someday. Idk what to do to get out of it...

Put a steering stabilizer on your zx6. It'll help completely avoid it.

Its best you learn all about it before it happens.
There are people that say you should just go loose and let the bike do its thing. I say to those people, please remove yourself from the gene pool immediately.

I've had it happen a bunch on this bike. Only wrecked once because it was the first time i had experienced it and i didn't know what to do. First thing i did was go loose. Then it go worse. Then i tried to chase the bars with my arms. That caused me to pin the throttle wide open and make the bike wheelie. You might think, "but the front tire was then off the ground, wouldn't the tank slapper then stop?" Nope. I was already going down no matter what.

In recent times, i've learned if you take your hands and push hard out with the outer edges of your hands, as if you wanted to bend the center of the bars towards your chest, that stops the shake immediately. I mean immediately.

There have been times i was riding with one hand and wind caught me off guard. Bars started to shake and i was able to deal with it without even thinking about it.

There have been times i've come down from a wheelie at 70mph and the bars shook violently. I was able to save it like this.

It works for me, don't see why it wouldn't work for others. Then again. Its a totally different animal on a sport bike. The riding position is so aggressive, and i'm not used to it, i'd have to get a feel for it to know how i'd handle it. Because of this, i'm not really a fan of clip ons. I like straight bars since i've grown up on mountain bikes and dirtbikes.

Just stay safe and remember, the faster you go, the easier it is to fuck up.

Thought about calling my banker for a whole ten minutes.

Just not in the budget right now...soon enough i suppose.

My dad was just given an Yamaha 350 that needs a little work, may try and snag it off him.
