Why don't we just set dates and times a month out so everyone can put it in their calendars. Last minute things almost never workout. I havent been followingn this thread long so idk if this is something that used to happen. It sucks seeing all these awesome taco meets in the lower 48, and nothing up here at all

So I've been talking with another member, and we are shooting for a possible overnight camp somewhere near or just north of Talkeetnah on Labor day weekend. We want to try and have it about halfway between Fairbanks and Anc for ease and max participation. Let us know if you can make it! More details to come as in exact day of the weekend, times and exact location! Thanks! @NickofTime

I might be able to make it. The Denail highway has a few trails we could probably run down and set up camp near a lake or river.

They were $130 a while on blue Ridge overland but the price has since gone up

Let me know what trails you know of, also if you know much about them and if stock trucks can make it. It would be nice to have an easy camp access with trails nearby for more capable trucks.

I haven't been on any around there. I drove the road once and there seemed to be a decent number of dirt track off shoots but I wasn't able to go down any of them. The Landmark Gap Trail North looks like an easy ride out to a nice spot to set camp at.

Nice, that is something to definitely consider!

EDIT: I checked it out on a couple sites. Seems like it would be an okay trail even for stock tacos, trail is only 3 miles long. More difficult trails nearby for the more capable.

So... How about we plan something for December? Snow wheeling if we ever get snow again? I know I'm not as active since Tapatalk support was pulled.

Yeah it would be good to get something in the books this far out from them.

Where would people want to go?

Buffalo Mine might be fun, but there is a river crossing right at the start.
Kings River or Permanente probably would be good I think, any other ideas?
Even Jim's Creek if we have a good freeze up (or not lol)

I'm down for snow wheeling, we should get just a meet n greet going in the mean time though! I feel like we've gotten a lot of new peeps to the group and haven't had a meet in forever!

A meet and greet to actually meet one another face to face would be good. It may also help us want in getting meets together. Just so we have an idea of who we are driving into the middle of the wilderness is and stuff. Haha

According to the forecast the only possible clear days are Sunday and Monday, we could shoot for then maybe? Where would be a good location for everyone, like Eagle River or Anchorage?

By the way don't be afraid to chime in on this conversation everyone else. Lol

Next weekend should be fine for me as well, just not Sunday mornings. We can just figure out a spot depending on who all comes out. @NickofTime what about you?

Anybody want some firewood? Next Saturday (not this weekend) a guy from my church is trying to get about 4 cords of wood (supposed to be mostly birch and some cottonwood) gone from some lady's house in Eagle River. Wood is free to take, they just want it gone. Currently it is in 4' lengths.

    PM me if you're interested.
