Ordered the Mobtown recovery bar for the front bumper and a tailgate skin....

Now I'm looking at 4x innovation's high clearance rear bumpers with a swing out... I should stop.

    Yo dudes and dudess,

I'm toying with the idea of painting my rocker panel area on the Tacoma like this:

    crout_taco_2_1.jpg

either POR-15 black matte or :notsure:.....

cool or really un-cool? I need your opinions...

I think it looks good, but I'd be careful with what you use. I wouldn't use rubberized undercoating, I'd go with something more durable and that looks a little better.

I agree @Pugga, the rubberized undercoating doesn't appeal to me above the "waterline" either, great for undercarriage coatings! but should stay there

Well, the lift still rides great but now I have a hum sound that gets louder until about 40mph...........yay. Now to diagnose it.

Same here. I get upwards of $10k whenever I start looking at performance upgrades for the 5.0. I could drop $10k in a heartbeat and not change the appearance at all but she'd crank out somewhere in the 500 hp range. I'd have to then budget $1/month in tires if I ever get my hands on a vehicle with that kind of sack.

I like the idea and I'm setting up to do something similar to my truck with Monstaliner before I install my rock sliders. I'm not sure how high I want to go yet and if I want to go over the fenders or remove them and go under. That's been my hang-up for a few weeks now. Maybe a little photoshop work is in order.

Yes, thats what I was looking at too, engine and gearing upgrades. Was thinking I'll regear the Tacoma sometime, which led to wanting 4.88's, BUT.. if I went with a supercharger and 4.56's that just might be the bee's knees! Then all the URD gadgetry (no pun intended)...then might as well throw a locker in the front when its out, then then then then!:boom:

You'd need more than that budgeted for tires...
