In 8100 miles, it had the 2-3 flare once, pre-TSB.

    BTW, this is "flair":

Just got the TSB done yesterday during the 5k service. My symptoms weren't as bad as some had posted, but the transmission clearly had issues.

The dealer had never done that TSB before, and it took them awhile. Driving it home from work yesterday, both city and highway driving, the truck shifted noticeably better. I'm curious what the MPG impacts may be.

I just had the TSB for the tranny done a few days ago. I too noticed it shifted better on the lower gears, seems to get up and go a little more aggressively and no more R to D delay. But, it has a little bit of rev hang sometimes, occasionally harsh downshifts when coming to a stop, and like its confused on which gear it needs to be in, for example, making a turn that I slow down to make, turn, and ease the throttle to pick up speed again, it bogs down and I have to nail it to get it going. But I don't have many miles on it post TSB, so maybe some of these issues will resolve over time. If not, I will open a new case with corporate to keep them aware in case the tranny decides to take a dump under warranty. At least the gas mileage is still good though.

Had the TSB flashed yesterday. Finally! All issues but one are resolved. There is still a 1 mph difference between analog speedo, and electronic speedo. Otherwise happy. Brought the truck to life!

I am up to about 2500 miles and I am slowly noticing better gas mileage. Still hovering around 16-17mpg. I am mostly doing city driving though so this may be as good as it is going to get

i notice the turning issue you describe, but my truck is still pre-flash. So it may be something that isn't touched in the update.

I notice it more on, on ramps where you turn and have to speed up, sometimes it gets confuse and i just have to put the foot down so i can get up to speed.

Have NOT pursued having this TSB done, and don't intend to until I hear myself utter repeatedly "WTF is this trasmission doing".
    Haven't heard it yet.
At 6400 total miles, I've settled in.

Yes, and it clunks into second gear from third sometimes when I stop. Truck is in the shop for it now.

I have this pre and post TSB. I suspect there is some accelerometer input that is making the trans upshift when turning. I agree it is very annoying.

Yeah, it did it once in a while pre flash, so maybe it will eventually settle down. It's odd for sure.

4 weeks post TSB I do feel the truck likes to get into 4-5-6 a little premature. I do ease through the gears. The passing power is def still better with instant downshifts. I am pretty easy in my mostly city commuting. The upside to the 4-5-6 is that I am averaging over 20.5 all the time. In heavy heavy traffic it may drop to 19.5 but if I am steady rolling 25-35-40 or above my mpg's are solid 20-21. The CAI helps too both with power and mpg as long as I limit full throttle. Also the R-D hesitation is long gone.

I'm in the city and Baton Rouge traffic a nightmare. I avarage 45 mph at most with a ton of stop and go. I currently average 21.4 mpg. I had the 5000 service yesterday as well as the TSB. Shifting has greatly improved and waiting to see what it does to my mpg.

Craziest thing. The dealership that I took my Tacoma to for the 5k mile checkup called today. Originally these people basically talked down to me and acted like I was an idiot because I was requesting the trans fluid be checked because of a forum. After it was 3/4 qt low they apologized. Now to the call. They asked if I was still experiencing issues, which of course I am. To which they said "come to find out there is a TSB for this now". The cool thing, they asked if I could bring it in this week to get it corrected. WHAT!? Went from being a dealership I wouldn't recommend to one that I would vouch for in person.

Has T-SB -0077-16 already been performed or is an additional T-SB to be performed ? Great open communication with the service writer!

Had the TSB done and they also checked fluid level. My truck was good on fluid but the TSB helped a ton. I couldn't really pinpoint the issue, but I no longer think about the transmission when driving. I just drive the truck like any other normal truck. Pretty happy with Toyota thus far; I'm impressed with how fast they were able to address this.

if you are good in person just walk in and talk to a service advisor , nicely complain about your symtoms and just drop it off.
