I took my 2016 to Toyota last Friday. Took a ride with the Tech. and he was able to reproduce to vibration/buzz. Goes in this Wednesday to the same Tech. He wants to keep it and go over the whole truck. I'm getting a loaner so I figure keep it as long as you want. I can't keep my mouth shut with issues like this. I'm going to tell him what I found in different forums (not tell him his job), just what I have read (hint/hint). I have read some good suggestions on possible fixes, but why the heck should I pay more, to have a new truck re-engineered to make it right when it should have been right when I drove out of the dealers lot. I will call Toyota corporate as well and pitch a bitch if I am not satisfied. Any ideas to give Toyota when I drop my Taco off on Wednesday would by greatly appreciated. I am a three time Subaru owner, and three time Honda owner. I really don't want to be completely disgusted with my first Toyota purchase. Thanks for listening.

How many miles do you have on it? When did it start to happen?

I have 1600 miles on mine and it's fine so far.

I didn't notice it until a friend pointed it out to me. Now I can't stop thinking about it. It is a high frequency buzz/vibration in the steering wheel and gas pedal you can feel from about 1800 to 2200 rpms, say when you're getting on the freeway or driving maybe 75mph or just over (which is interstate speed here in AZ). Easiest way to tell is take your hands off steering wheel for 1 or 2 seconds at this RPM, then put them back on, you'll notice the buzz. Mine is to the point where it actually starts giving me a numbing sensation on long trips. Could I live with it? Sure. But is it something that we should consider "right" for a $40K brand new vehicle? Probably not.

2000 miles. Pedal pulsed whenever the engine was under power.

I've tried to find it in mine and have cruised at 75 MPH at those RPMs and cannot find any discomforting vibration in the pedal or wheel; I hope it stays that way as the miles accumulate. It sucks that you are not completely satisfied with yours. I agree, for the price you pay, it should be comfortable and vibration free. If mine goes south, I'll definitely take it back to Toyota. I also don't have a howling rear end or any of the other issues posted on this forum.

You might be lucky. Or maybe not since these other characteristics are deemed for many posters "normal for vehicle"....so maybe you should be at the dealer complaining that you didn't get a normal truck

This happens on all 3rd gen trucks and is likely always there, just a matter of when you start paying attention or correlating the light vibration with what you read here.

Every truck I drove had it, my 17 has it. I am almost certain it has to deal with motor mount stiffness which is why it's considered "normal" as it is not technically a malfunctioning part. It is not unlike any other car I've installed stiffer motor mounts on (previously
    Subarus).

I will also say that considering I've driven many car with solid mounts, this truck doesn't bother me. I am game to try some Lexus motor mounts for research purposes, but they don't appear to be the same mounting style. I feel the drivetrain just needs some "give" installed into it to alleviate this so called problem.

Some trucks pulse more than others. You may be lucky and not have a severe case. Your JD will help you if it does develop.

sometimes perception=reality. I had read about the problem on this forum, while researching, so of course all 4 I test drove had it to some degree. If I had not read this before I drove em, I'd still have noticed, but probably not as much. When I considered the 4 cyl, I just happened on to a thread, on my phone at the dealership, where a bunch of guys were saying they loved the 2.7 4 cyl........those guys owe me

the last 3.5 I drove was an SR5, and it was the lightest of all....dunno why. Might have bought it had I driven it first "-)

Not every truck cause I drove a 17 same model as mine and it did not have it. You might not have the buzz/vibration that were experiencing.

So I have an appt this week to test drive an F-150 V6 EcoBoost. I think I've given up at this point hoping for a TSB or fix from Toyota. Ford's running 0% APR and their F-150 lineup is heavily discounted.

Any thoughts on this being a good "exit" strategy? I may take a $1-2k loss but imo its worth it to regain my sanity (thank God the Tacoma has superb resale value). Just cant justify driving a $40k vehicle that has a vibrating pedal and steering wheel in the RPM range that most everyone drives at around town and under load.

I just recently had a Hyundai Accent as a rental a car for a week and its the cheapest of the cheap Hyundai model you can get. Likely a CVT transmission...and it had no vibration or buzzing whatsoever.

Suffice to say, I actually enjoyed driving it. Just venting but damn, I think I'm leaning to selling mine this week and cutting my losses. I also have the driveline shudder when slowing to a stop and the transmission flares, among other issues but the vibration definitely is at the top of my list.

A couple guys I work with have them with the twin turbo, they both
have zero complaints with the truck.

My front seats vibrate like crazy between 70 and 80 mph. But not all the time. Why would the truck be smooth sometimes, but vibrate like crazy other times? I don't understand.
