Getting to 300 happens pretty quickly, after that, the farming and minute steps to get to a higher light is a little frustrating.

 

300 is pretty quick after all DLC. Its 300-335 that takes time. Unless of course you have higher levels that will help you do the higher light level stuff.

 

How? All your doing is farming a boss off of one mission? Vanguard rep doesn't really mean anything other than gettin a piece of armor / weapon. Crucible rep is much better as far as rewards IMO.

Im just going off videos. Boosting vanguard will yeild an item up to 5 levels higher correct? This is the same for factions as well?

 

This is all just to get higher light level stuff to infuse the gear i like up.

 

Same with running the raid, crucible, and ranking up your faction. Crucible ranks up the fastest unless you just like running the same strikes over and over (which I don't). Shaxx is pretty good about giving out boosters also so that helps.

 

I run blocks of 3 vanguard heroic strikes with a 2 hour booster

Run CoE or PoE for judgement rank

Crucible for whatever daily bounties or weekly stuff

Bounties planet side for materials and faction ranking

And these quest line stuffs like the bane and that blade

 

I just switch it up daily to keep it kinda new vs farming the same single quest. We can blast these heroics strikes pretty fast now.

Another thing i just started doing is keeping ghosts that detect the differnt armor items so i can farm those quickly. I seem to use those a lot as im adding to my arsenal. Ive leved my 1000 yard stare up but got a better version last night. That is becoming more common as i climb light

 

That video I posted was before the boss fight. You don't have to do the entire mission if you leave right after you kill him. You drop right back in at the boss the next time. 30 secs to farm then leave and come back the next time you are dropping back to the tower to turn stuff in.

 

Yeah. That's when they put the time limit on the ToC's. After people were picking up multiple exotics within 10-15 mins time (I exploited it also). Now the ToC's is 6 mins or 15 mins for farming the same boss. So you can wait 6 mins and farm another boss or 15 mins for the same boss which is why I farm this one each time I go to the tower.

I have heard of this 3rd gen section you speak of. I wont go there because of my fear of self injury like slitting my wrists or bashing my skull on my keyboard from the mass amounts of derp.

Im not ready to lose my hope for this community just yet. That will certainly push me over.

Up until the100 came along the game pretty much sucked for finding a good group of people to play with. There was / is a Destiny LFG (looking for group) but it sucked / sucks. Mostly because most of the people there either expect you to know exactly what to do and if you die or don't do it like they think you should they would rage quit or bitch about you being a newb. I fucking hated it. I had a group of friends that played for a while but they dropped off so that pretty much left me with 1-3 players that would play regularly. I wanted to raid. I come from a long background of MMO's and raiding was always my thing. But finding a good group of people to raid with was a fucking nightmare. My first time through VoG was miserable. I was dead most of the time and was basically "carried" through the entire raid without any instruction on what I should be doing.

Then came the100 where you could pick your preferences such as age, parent, ok with profanity, normal play times, etc... I built a solid group of friends off the site and basically became the defacto leader of our group. We created a clan off the site and we now play every night even though there really isn't anything to do in the game until the expansion. I HIGHLY recommend you join a group and create a game you wish to play. If the group is active and friendly then you will enjoy the game so much more as there will always be someone on to do something with.
