This is my short review on the HID kits I purchased from coolbulbs.com

    https://coolbulbs.com/

After reading inconsistent reviews on other brands, I decided to reach out to a local HID distributor. The main issue with the 2016 Tacoma I was reading was that there seemed to be allot of vibrations or shaking by HID's when the truck was driven over bumpy roads.

I reached out to Andrew Falk from Coolbulbs.com and he offered to do a test on my truck to see if those shaking issues occurred with his kits.. Andrew was more than helpful and even aided in the installation process.

I've now been driving with them for over a week and the HID's do not vibrate at all. I'm running 6k bulbs for my low beams and 3k bulbs for my fogs. This setup was complete plug and play. The only thing left I need to do is a proper mounting for the ballast. At the moment, my ballast are mounted with zip ties.

Below are some pics of the ballast and the HID's running. We tested 6k's on the lows, highs and fog's. Then we tested the 3k's on the fogs, which I'm currently running and the setup has grown on me.

Overall I'm super happy with the purchase and Andrew @ coolbulbs was more than helpful and knowledgeable about his products. If your interested, shoot Andrew an email or purchase from his site.

Here is the plug n play kit, I purchased 3 kits (low/high/fog)

The Ballast are 35w and made in Germany.

Here are some pics of them installed

Lastly here is a video I shot with my gopro driving through a bumpy canyon road. I have the 6k Low's and 3k fogs on. At one point I turn on the OEM high's.

My bulbs have been working flawlessly since day 1, I highly recommend them. The bluish hue gets lighter as they warm up, so its not obnoxious. Overall the lights really give the truck a high-line look.

May I ask if the HID's would blind other poor drivers in front of me. As someone who drove a car for many years, I cannot express how difficult it is when I get blinded from behind.. even when they are on low by some cars/trucks who have HIDs installed. Ours is a 4x2 TRD sport and I think only the DRL is LED's I think. All the rest have a yellowish color light, and i hope it's not too intense. While driving at night, I try to keep a distance from the car in front of me.

Have you had the chance to sit inside a friends car parked in front of your truck which has its headlights ON? Lets say at a 5 feet distance (while at stop lights/signs) and at 10 or 15ft?

    Thanks!

I am no expert on the 2016 Tacoma. But aren't the headlight using a projector now? If so, they should only blind cars due to natural height differential that puts the beam in line with rear view or eyes of car in front of you (assuming them can still be aimed/ aligned properly).

Can you post the link to the exact bulbs/kits you bought for both headlights and fog lights? This is my next upgrade and want to compare this to Morimoto

Got a question here.. I have the Morimoto 35W ballast and 5500K bulb kit and the bulbs bounce like crazy and I wanted to know if the 6K bulbs from coolbulbs.com would work with the existing kit? I was thinking about replacing the 5500k morimoto bulbs with the 6k ones from coolbulbs.com if they fit to see if that resolves the bouncing issue.
