A question for all you owners of Wet Okole Seat Covers. How do you clean your seat covers? Do you use the Wet Okole Shampoo or something else? How about the UV Protectant? When cleaning do you have to be very careful not to get water on the carpet and non covered parts of your truck or is it easy enough to clean just the seat covers without making a mess?

WO says wash them in place ... DO NOT place them in a washer ... their shampoo or something similar ... wet suit cleaner/shampoo ... vacuum first ... no need for a lot of water ... a wet bristle brush ... wipe off with damp towels (cold water) ... this worked well for me in two Tacomas ... my surfing/wet suit days are over for the most part ... I have since gone to leather

I am no expert but did have personal experience in cleaning my wo seat cover. I spilled a whole cup of coffee on my front passenger seat and was amazed at how well and easy it was to clean . I did not buy the cleaner when I bought my covers as I had heard (not verified) that most detergents work fine. I followed their cleaning instructions as posted on their website using whatever dish detergent my wife had. Seats cleaned perfectly (my color is charcoal and black), can't tell anything was ever spilled. I have to say I enjoy covers more now knowing how well/easily they clean. This was obviously a spot clean but on the whole seating area. I wouldn't think carpet would be a factor. With any cleaning always a good idea to spot test.

My concern is that I have a BBQ catering side business and do some comps also. I want to protect my seats from the smoke and grease that always coats my clothing after a cook. I am looking at the WOs with the understanding that I will have to clean them regularly or the smoke smell will stay in my truck forever.
