Double ouch. That sucks man. Just glad you made it home. I had a clutch master cylinder go out on an old truck once in Huntington Beach. Had to limp it home with nothing but second gear. It sucks to have the right to take it back and have it fixed but not the faith in them to make it right for you.

Yeah man, that shop told me to bring it back to them but honestly I don't want them near my truck. They've already tried once and it just got worse. I'm willing to bite the bullet on having Toyota do it and chalk it up to one hell of an expensive lesson learned.

Up to you but is say give them one more shot. You really have nothing to lose at this point except for a little time. they might get lucky and do it right and you just saved yourself the $2k on top of what you paid them originally.

OK change of plans for me, friends dont want to make the 2 hour drive out there, so we'll be heading out to gorman this weekend, most likely Saturday morning. Is anyone else going? We dont know any trails or anything out there

The main road throughout Cleghorn is just a fire road, very 2wd friendly even sedans can handle it. The off-shoots are what makes Cleghorn so much fun, but like someone else said above...take the wrong one and your day will go south right quick. The off-shoots out there aren't marked by difficulty like they are at some other places (Rowher Flats for instance), so you have to be extra careful with the ones you take. Get out and scout ahead. Many of the off-shoots are very narrow and steep and there's really no turning around once you commit.

Cleghorn is a lot of fun, been there a few times in my 4x4. It's only as difficult as you want it to be if you're careful about picking the right spots. I'd be curious to know if the park is even open though with the fires that were out there recently, I thought they burned through that area?

From what ive seen on park websites, it seems to be open but the site may not have been updated recently. We will be heading to Gorman/Hungry Valley Saturday morning instead because they dont want to make the 2 hour drive to cleghorn
