Okay, did some refinements, shaved the night run down to 112 miles. Plus it'll be easy to bail to Hwy. 395 after # 7 (76 miles in). This is what that looks like.

Had a great time this weekend in spite of the (Ford :p) carnage on Saturday and Jay won! Can also report that we did find the mandatory creek-bed on the Sunday evening/night run from which Jay needed recovering. Good times. I took exactly no pictures so please post up if you have any...

Tire, wheel, brake drum and axle shaft were found (as an assembly) some considerable distance further up the trail from where that truck came to rest. It may have achieved low orbit. The recovery was, shall we say, fairly involved. :)

 Yeah that would be a hell of a recovery. Was the truck trailered there or drive?

It was driven there from Sacramento area. Shaft with wheel was shoved most of the way back into the axle and it was very slowly towed a very short distance off the trail. A beat-down flat bed trailer was obtained from a rental yard in Fallon and it was loaded up through no small effort and the Ram towed it back there. We then fled the scene.

Oh, and before that happened to the lead truck, the white Tundra simultaneously flattened both tires on his driver side in the first 10 miles. Only had one spare. Who even knew you could buy a Tundra with 5-lug 20" wheels?
Then Jay had one tire go down...

@tyfoon11 @BudMan Your tabs are worse than this, correct? Let me know if/when you are doing the TC tabs, maybe we get the same welder to do both trucks.
Good news is the steering wheel is straight again and I was able to shut off the VSC light with a paperclip.

Those aren't bad, you still have them. When they're completely sheered off and your bolts are 3/4" over, then you know you did them in proper!
