    STOLEN!!!!

hey guys i was wondering if you can keep a look out for someone that might be selling a 50" 4D curved lightbar. I just walked out to my truck and noticed it was gone. some scumbag cut the wires and ripped it off. This all happened right by CSUN/Granada Hills. Please contact me if you have any leads to who might have done this. i checked all the buildings around but there doesnt seem to be any cameras

Sucks man, I worry about that all the time out here in SoCal. Just my whole truck in general, Tacoma's are hot ticket theft items out here especially first gens like mine. I have the dealer installed alarm on it but we all know that won't stop a dedicated thief, all it's really good for is getting a discount on my insurance and keeping amateur thieves at bay.

Keep an eye out on Craigslist and local pawn shops, if it was a junkie looking for a quick buck for his next fix then that'd be the most likely place they'd go.

OP out of curiosity, did you use security screws to mount the LED bar to the bracket? I've been wanting a roof mount LED bar, but this is the reason I've held off. They're just to easy to steal. The spot weld is a great idea.

The only security bolts that really work are ones you make yourself.

Spot welding is a far better idea and option.

At my buddies fab shop when I told him we were gonna spot weld each side he thought I was crazy. Later that night I got a little to drunk and was on the motorcycle so he drove me home and I left the bike at the shop. next day my helmet was missing! Asked my buddy if he still thought I was crazy. Super small town where nobody steals anything and it turns out the neighbors dog stole it. But I travel too much and refuse to be an easy target for thieves in other areas. I can post a pic of how I spot welded mine if you want OP but I think its pretty self explanatory.

Security bolts to the LED bar itself won't do anything, as the thief will just move on to the mounts.

So you'd have to security bolt the bar, possibly put JB weld into said security bolts cause most only provide marginal security, and then do the same to the mounts themselves. That means total pain in the ass for you when it comes time to take it off for whatever reason.

Most security bolts have a common tool to remove, especially the "button" ones and some are completely circumventable by a screwdriver.

So Security bolts "help" but only if you secure every other point of attachment. And/or spot weld like has been suggested.
