Have a question regarding the recall on leaf pack for 2005-2010 tacoma double cab 4x4. I have a 2009 double cab 4x4. Just turned 80,000 tonight. Loving the truck. With that said I called toyota to get info on new leaf spring recall, they told me I could come in and have new ones put on. I want to do a lift down the road. ( not in budget now.) my question is I would like to upgrade to a either all pro or Dakar leaf pack. Would anyone recommend getting toyota to do springs now and change them out for better ones later, or just pay out of pocket for upgraded leaf pack now? At this point in time I feel the truck is getting unsafe with these springs,
I would also like to add I tow a small trailer pretty regularly so a heavier spring would be nice. Also my rear seems to be sagging as I drove my truck tonight. There appeared to be more rake upfront then in rear. ( hood looked higher then rear) .

Any thoughts much appreciated. Any one personally have exspo rancher with this problem. Also if toyota put junk on the first time around, why would I want more temporary junk!

    Simple. Do it.
    4 spring leaf pack.
New parts so if and when you upgrade things come apart a lot easier.

I asked a dealer here in Houston about rear leaf springs recall and I was told that they cant do anything now and I have to wait to get another letter about this recall. They just took care about some seat belt recall for access cab Tacoma's and something about gas pedal. For gas pedal recall I have never got any letter.

Definitely get the 4-pack for free.

It also could open other options if on a budget, such as adding the icon/wheelers/toytec 3 leaf progressive AAL to the new leaf pack. Whereas I wouldn't waste the money adding that on a shot 3-pack.

Update. I got new spring leafs on my Tacoma two days ago. I got letter about 2 months ago and so waited for parts to come in for almost 8 weeks. I don't see or feel any difference so far even my old spring leafs were 3 pack original never updated. They did squeak here and there thou.

They're the safer leafs because they're not going to snap and puncture your gas tank.

That's it. Not mind blowing or earth shattering, not aftermarket and not made of gold.

But, they're 100% free, so the one thing they are is worth what you paid for them.
