Both of my key fobs are not working. They flash red but Nada. I have to place the fob next to the push to start for the truck to reset, but even then after I shut the truck off, I have to do it again. Anyone else had this happen? Any easy fix?

mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
    Batteries?

Pgs 481-483 in your manual. If that doesn't work, call dealer.

Haven't done that yet, but I don't think that's it as it was both keys same day

Believe it or not, getting them wet doesn't do anything. I went swimming in the ocean twice with my fob in my pocket and it still works fine.

Do you keep the keys near the truck a lot? I've read that if they're stored too close to the truck they can run down. Our bedroom directly is over our garage, so i don't keep my keys in the bedroom to avoid running the batteries down.

That's cmoforting, and my biggest fear on my 4R. I once had to buy one cause I left it my pocket and into the washing machine. But that was a GM fob, not Toyota :D

    ^^ This^^

I'd try a new battery, not sure is covered under warranty as it maybe a "consumable" item and then if it don't work take it to the stealership as they're the only ones who may have the programing tools anyway.

    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!

Thats good to know! Someone at Toyota was using their noodle. +2 on the dead battery then or maybe something with the transponder in the car.

Took to Toyota and they couldn't figure it out yet, but I had to go out of town for a week and will take it back as soon as I return but this is what I had today

Do you have an aftermarket power adapter plugged in? The cheap ones are not shielded and put out an RF signal that will interfere with your key fob.

my wifes lexus key sat in her cup holder full of coffee and diet coke for like 2 months and still worked after I cleaned them out and yelled at her for spilling coke and coffee in her cup holder and not cleaning it up.

edit: to clarify, it was her spare key and she just assumed she lost it, so she went back to using her main keys.

Yup, my wife dropped hers in the river, I fished it out and it worked fine even before I opened it and dried it out.

They were both most likely installed in the remotes the same day, from most likely the same lot and batch of batteries. It is not out of the question for them to both fail at almost the same time.
Simple solutions first, then get into hard stuff.
