Looks like Walmart isn't on the list of 'participating retailers'. Except it says 'some participating retailers include' so I guess there's an out there?

I have bought it at walmart before and the rebate did come through.

    It is what it is!
I bought at Amazon and they weren't on "the participating retailers " list , but I applied anyways, haven't heard anything yet!

    Ditto.

Incidentally, who can comment on the difference between standard Mobil1 Synthetic (Walmart.com has for $22.88 per 5 qt) and Mobil1 Extended Performance ($28.68 / 5qt). Is it just for people who want to run their oil to 10K+ miles? It's what's in my truck right now, but I only noticed the diff when I saw the partial quart from the last change, with was normal Mobil1. Whatsit and can you mix it with old skewl plain Mobil1 (cuz I have half a quart)?

here is what I could find from BITOG. These are virgin oil analyses of Mobil 1 EP 5W30 and Mobil 1 AFE 0W20. In short, there are more quality additives in Mobil 1 EP and it is formulated to last longer. Is it worth it? IMO, it depends on the engine. If you tow a lot, drive the truck hard and want to extend the oil change interval, I'd go with the Extended Performance. As for mixing, I think its fine, though I am no expert.

FYI I've done literally dozens of these over the years (they roll new date window campaigns regularly for years now.. two per campaign) all from either Walmart locally or Amazon.com depending on inventory & prices. Usually $22 per 5qt jug can be had at one or both if your patient since they seem to play off of each other's pricing algorithm. I've got a massive back log of oil & have been skipping them lately but if I use one or two I'll get in on a couple before it expires again. So don't worry about walmart & Amazon not being listed. Follow all of the steps as instructed exactly & keep copies & notes (like you should w/any rebates you care about) & you'll be good to go. It's a very slow process usually but the rebates do come.

That's probably on the quicker side. Expect probably about double that just to set expectations. Like I said, they take a while but generally come through if you do your part properly.

FYI, this should be the link to check your status but it really is one of those rebates you should just forget about for at least a month, possibly even two: http://mobil.rebateresearch.com/
