I'm thinking about getting a 3" lift pro comp. I was originally going to get a spacer lift tuff country for 400 installed. I decided to add a couple of dollars more and get an actual lift. What do you guys recommend. Can I have feedback on the pro comp lift. How does it ride on and off road. I'll be getting also 33s" with 17" rims. Thanks in advance

I would save even more and not go with Pro Chump. Seriously start with 5100's at least. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road can you help him?

I was going to have a shop install a 3" toytec lift. But they said the ride would be really stiff. My ride is 90% daily driver and wanted a ride as close to stock as possible.
So I went with their reccomendation, the procomp setup. I'm pleased with the soft ride I got from it. Though I will need a 2" body lift to clear my 33" BFGs.
The lift of choice is dependent on your desired outcome. Hardcore off-road, daily driver, heavy towing, etc.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Disregard everyone above: what do you want a lift for?

And how much are you willing to spend?

Adding a "couple bucks" to $400? First off once you go over 2-1/2"s of lift you need UCA's. The cheapest ones that are still considered reliable are $480. You may want to rethink how much this is going to set you back. A basic 3" lift that won't be looked down on here is probably closer to $1200, Just sayin'. Talk to Marie._20160530_143652.jpg

The primary answers you are going to get on here are going to be one sided strong opinions leaning toward toytec, fox, bilstein, etc. because that's what they bought and it makes you cool on here. They are great suspensions, but still might not be for you.

It all depends on what you are going to use the truck for.
If I were you, take your time and do your research on ride quality and performance. The suspension is like your bed. You'll be spending a lot of time feeling and little time thinking about it, unless it's uncomfortable. Don't be afraid to spend a few more bucks on it to do it right for your needs.

Did you have to install new UCA's with the lift? I'm looking at going with a 3" lift myself and the pro comp sounds like a nice soft ride. I too am not looking for hardcore off road handling.

At 3" it's optional. I didn't and haven't had any problems at all. The only issue I've had is clearance from inside the wheel well with my 33" BFGs. I carved a bit of it out and bought a Roger Brown 2" body lift I've et to install. It's still sitting in my garage. :)

You need after market upper control arms to get your alignment in spec with a 3" lift. The right kind of upper arm will also help your ride not feel horrible.
