Congrats OP, you'll love it! I went with an SR5 after 3 Tacos in a row. Didn't need a truck bed anymore. The 4runner is a dream to drive and problem free.
4R.com is a dead forum. Try 4R.org. Lots of great guys over there and lots of chatter. It moves fast. Enjoy your new wheels!

Congrats, I think you made a wise choice. For most applications the 4R is more practical, more features, more comfortable and a better value. Made in Japan is also a nice plus. I had a 2013 4R and was thinking of either trading it in for a 3rd Gen Taco (hence why I'm here) or into a newer face lifted 4R. Decided to go with the 4R a few days ago and got a base trail. Unless you need the bed for hauling and towing then the Taco is the better way to go.

I like it on both forums but you'll find it to be a little more tame at T4R.org. I guess it just depends whether or not you like the banter here. I appreciate and enjoy both though!!!

    Check out the build
At least he's staying in the Toyota family. The new 4runners have great rear suspension. Its linked and everything on a solid chassis, so I don't get the lifted wagon comments.

It's basically got all the suspension and transmission i wish my taco came with stock.

True. We have 4 moms here at work all in their souped up Limited and TRD 4Runners. Rav4 is too sissy for them.

My Tacoma has several fairly significant issues that Toyota cannot currently fix but has acknowledged are issues. The 4skinner is a perfect vehicle and I have to stop driving it because every time I do, I quickly remember how anemic the Tacoma feels. Lady's 4skinner gets the garage spot alongside my 1968 GTO. The Taco parks in driveway.

I stopped by the dealer to get the transmission tsb, and decided to test drive a '16 trd pro 4runner... Was this( ) close to trading up, but I need a truck bed too often

I thought about doing the same. How funny would it look to have two 2016 4skinners in the same household... seems wasteful to have two of the same vehicle

Before I got this Tacoma, I just had 2 dodge diesels. It's better to have variety

Sounds like my garage. The '69 D100 kicks the Toyota out into the driveway during the summer, because the GF's car has the other bay.

When are they scheduled to ruin these with the 3.5 and 6 speed auto combo?
