I had to use sew-on hook Velcro for the 'curtains'. More stability ( harder to pull off while sleeping), the heat at the Gorge softened the adhesive when I had the stick-on dots attached...

Velcro will hold anything up there... there are many different strengths for whatever you might need! No need to poke holes

For all you Snugtop guys how long did it take for your shell to settle? I was told it will take a few months since the gasket is really thick and hard. They told me to tighten it every week. It's been going down everytime I tighten it.

[IMG]You got different clamps than what my V came with. I had to swipe some longer grade 8's from work, not that grade 8's will do any different :D, to reach the top clamp. And I definitely didn't get the tacoma rail specific type either.

Annnnd, I did wire my 3rd brake light this morning and had to tie into the BLUE wire on the taillight. I had to cut a little of the sheathing and use my voltmeter to find out which of the 3 worked!

Shit, I'd meant to get a picture of that. And yeah, it was the blue wire. Scotty wired it in with a T tap on the blue wire, and a ground wire on the frame.

Just got the Leer 100XR installed today. Went with the carpeted headliner, front slinding/removeable window, hooks on ceiling, Thule roof tracks, and power lock.
Color match is pretty spot on. They just sent in the color code and a picture of the label. Can't wait to break it in camping next weekend.

    Looks great!

If you do any off road travel, carry a 13mm socket to tighten the canopy's bolts if they come loose (mine did once).

The tracks are always Thule. What you attach to those tracks (Thule, Yakima, or other manufacturer) is entirely up to you.

Does a softopper count? I just installed mine today. I spoke with the owner on the phone before ordering and they've made a few updates to the 3rd gen Softoppers recently. They adjusted the overall height to match the cab - second gen versions ended up being a bit taller. They also added a bar to the rear window to secure it down without the need for velcro on the tailgate. The option to do so is still there but likely unnecessary.

The main reason I went with a Softopper over a hard shell is that I can carry taller items by simply retracting it down (also being less than half the cost of most hard shells helped).

For anyone with a Z series, are you pretty water tight? I find that mine has been leaking pretty good. I have the gaps sealed up in the back, but I took it through a car wash today and it had a decent amount of water in there pooled up on the sides.

Had the Leer 100R installed today. Passenger side is a slider with pet screen then the driver side is a windoor. Very happy with the quality and color match.

Anybody with a Leer cap having problems with their dog(s) opening the rear hatch? My damn dogs have figured out all they have to do is put their nose in the corner of the glass and push on the exposed cable to pop the hatch. Locked or unlocked makes no difference. Curious if anyone has fabricated and installed a guard in the lover corners of the rear glass housing to cover/ protect the exposed cable.

That whole latch system is crap. I have to tighten the center nut constantly so it latches at all, much less lock. It should be stiff aluminum stock or anything more rigid than the cables.
